Near the end of its evening newscast Telemundo, NBC’s Spanish-language affiliate network, recently had the temerity to treat its viewership to two and a half minutes of good news. Three cheers for a buoyant economy in which Latinos make up 63% of new homeowners in the United States.

After two nights, NBC/MSNBC has proved that they deserve the nickname “MSDNC.” The twenty Democrats who made the presidential debate stage were treated to questions that were wildly skewed (69%) to the left, with only a scant 13% challenging the candidates to defend their outside-the-mainstream views, a five-to-one disparity.

Outstanding economic news continues for the nation's largest ethnic minority – Hispanic Americans - with the unemployment rate for this segment of the population remaining at a record-low of 4.2% in May. Yet for the Spanish-language sister network of NBC, Telemundo, this historically low rate was not even worth mentioning on its national evening news.

Showing its fierce determination not to cede an inch in liberal advocacy to arch-rival Univision, Telemundo, the Spanish language sister television network of NBC, has announced its decision to uncritically and wholeheartedly embrace climate alarmism in its coverage of climate and environmental news.

During the Trump administration Hispanic unemployment has hit five all-time record lows, but the nation’s number one Spanish-language television newscast, Noticiero Univision, once again blew off the latest blockbuster economic news for the country’s largest minority group, which participates in the American labor force at a higher rate than any other segment of the U.S. population.

Since news broke over the weekend that former South Carolina Senator Erniest Hollings had passed, his controversial history on race has been substantially whitewashed in media reports which have gone so far as to praise him over the ending of segregation in his home state. Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló (D) achieved a lot of free press on the Mainland, with help and direction from CNN’s Jim Acosta. But Telemundo needlessly took the governor’s remarks a step further. In the clip below, Telemundo senior anchor José Díaz-Balart hypes Rosselló’s inflammatory remarks by misrepresenting them:

As news of the Mueller report’s arrival broke late Friday afternoon, newscasts scrambled to adequately cover a story that is sure to shake up the nation’s political landscape. Our major domestic Spanish-language newscasts were no different, but there was a clear tonal difference in how news of the Mueller report was covered.

The ‘hate crime hoax’ phenomenon is alive and well at Telemundo. The Spanish-language sister network to NBC really made a  fool of itself in a story on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) annual “Year in Hate” report.
