Today marks the official release of fired FBI director James Comey’s new book A Higher Loyalty and the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks already have done their part to boost its sales, packing a total of two hours, 24 minutes in five days of coverage on their evening and morning news programs.   

After James Comey’s wife, Patrice, revealed during Sunday night’s ABC News special that she was a ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, on Monday’s Good Morning America, anchor George Stephanopoulos devoted an entire segment to fawning over the ex-FBI Director’s spouse.

Recapping his Sunday night interview with former FBI Director James Comey on Monday’s Good Morning America, ABC anchor and former Clinton White House political operative George Stephanopoulos complained that the ex-Bureau chief’s decision to re-open the Hillary Clinton e-mail investigation in October of 2016 cost the Democrat the election.

In a salacious promo for the network’s exclusive Sunday night interview with former FBI Director James Comey, during Wednesday’s Good Morning America, ABC featured clips of anchor George Stephanopoulos touting Comey’s comparison of President Trump to a “mob boss” and asking the fired Bureau chief if the President should be impeached.

On Sunday, ABC’s This Week With George Stephanopoulos served up a heavy dose of “blue wave” rhetoric, featuring a segment dedicated to the purported Democratic surge, an interview with a Democratic Senator from a red state, and a Republican strategist who had already decided that the GOP would be losing the House in 2018 “by 40 or 50 seats.” 

After ABC’s revival of Roseanne received huge ratings Tuesday night, on Thursday, NBC’s Today show and ABC’s Good Morning America suddenly discovered the value of shows set in red states with pro-Trump characters. 

All three networks on Monday adopted an impatient, irritated tone with Stormy Daniel’s lawyer Michael Avenatti. Good Morning America, CBS This Morning and Today hosts complained that the porn star’s 60 Minutes interview had been a boring “tease.” Despite the disappointment, these same networks still devoted a hefty 61 minutes of combined coverage to the Stormy Daniels story on Monday.
