PBS journalists are gearing up for Round Two of President Donald Trump, performing public relations on Thursday evening’s PBS News Hour on behalf of a left-wing documentary (“Separated”) to guilt the incoming administration in holding off its campaign promise to deport illegal immigrants by reminding everyone of the so-called “family separation” policy.

Of all the bad takes on President Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter, MSNBC host and Washington Post associate editor Jonathan Capehart had the worst on Friday’s PBS News Hour. In Capehart’s mind, Biden was justified because Kamala Harris lost and Democrats need “to stop bringing a melon baller to a knife fight.”

As a taxpayer-funded TV network, PBS should not be favoring one side over the other. But MRC analysts studying the use of labels over 18 months on the PBS News Hour found they were 27 times more likely to identify an "extreme" on the right than they would on the left. There were 162 extreme-right labels and only six extreme-left descriptions. 

The passage of a few days to allow for more mature reflection after Election Day has not affected Washington Post associate editor Jonathan Capehart. On Friday’s PBS News Hour, Capehart attributed Donald Trump’s victory to “racism and sexism” and a list of other horribles that the country refuses to acknowledge.

Los Angeles Times columnist LZ Granderson joined PBS News Hour on Friday to attack his paper’s “extremely frustrating” decision not to endorse Kamala Harris in the presidential election. New York Times counterpart and alleged conservative counterweight David Brooks agreed, saying the Times and Washington Post’s similar decision “hurt the integrity of the paper.”
