After having had a great time piecing together a list for readers of some crazy, surprising, and downright weird moments/statements from MSNBC’s late Monday night/early Tuesday morning coverage of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), I thought it would be an appropriate time to do another one for the DNC’s closing night.

Liberal host Chris Hayes, who has been anchoring live coverage this week, talked to a top aide of Hillary Clinton. Early in MSNBC’s Tuesday night coverage of the Republican National Convention (RNC), Hardball host Chris Matthews took a brief shot at MSNBC’s parent company Comcast buying them from General Electric (GE) five years ago and admitted the RNC attendees have been “incredibly friendly” but doubted Democrats will do the same at their convention to conservative media members.

For the first night of the Republican convention, MSNBC on Monday went to extremely liberal columnist Charlie Pierce to rant against all the “angry,” “old” “white people” attending. Host Chris Hayes also brought on the wife of a Democratic senator to ask her opinion on the GOP gathering.

With Hardball host Chris Matthews on vacation, MSNBC’s All In host Chris Hayes led the network’s 7:00 p.m. Eastern hour on Friday night covering the deadly attack on Dallas police officers and so he received a brief but straightforward education on gun rights from the very man falsely accused by police of being a person of interest. 

Shortly after a radical Jihadist targeted a gay nightclub and murdered 49 people in Orlando, Dan Savage has announced the LGBT community’s enemy #1: Donald Trump. In an interview with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, gay-activist Dan Savage said that “Trump is the enemy of the LGBT community” and “is beating up on…a vulnerable minority group.” 

Social media sites like Twitter were set ablaze late Thursday night as violence broke out yet again following a Donald Trump rally as anti-Trump protesters physically and verbally assaulted the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s followers. Within the hysteria, CBS News legal correspondent Jan Crawford let slip a rather succinct point about the liberal media’s many double standards.  

Late Tuesday afternoon, CNN and MSNBC were both granted interviews with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and while both had to nearly identical run times (seven minutes and 44 seconds on CNN versus seven minutes and 47 seconds on MSNBC), the two differed on a variety of issues ranging from Clinton’s e-mail scandal to her refusal to hold a press conference to the VA scandal.

MSNBC’s always tolerant Lawrence O’Donnell trotted out the tired liberal narrative that all Republicans are idiots on the issues and governance on Thursday afternoon. Leading off Monday's All In on MSNBC, host Chris Hayes and his fellow panelists giggled their way through a discussion about the possible collapse of the Never Trump movement to the point that they predicted that the push by conservatives to not support the billionaire frontrunner is on a "slow death march" to accepting and backing his nomination.
