Trump Impeachment 1 and 2

As Tuesday’s impeachment hearing was about to begin, special coverage on NBC and CBS focused not on facts but on how House Democrats could “weave a compelling tale of wrongdoing” against President Trump that would result in them “winning the court of public opinion.”

So much for objectivity: For the past several weeks, anxious journalists have coached Democratic politicians from the sidelines with unsolicited advice on how best to convince the majority of Americans to support impeaching President Trump.

Due process has become a thing of the past in the minds of the liberal media. Fake news anchor Michael Che underlined this during the Weekend Update segment on the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live.

Former Watergate investigative journalist Carl Bernstein joined CNN's Brooke Baldwin on Monday's CNN Newsroom to discuss the latest speculations surrounding impeachment and President Trump's use of Twitter. During the segment, Bernstein suggested that the Trump could be impeached for witness intimidation.

Twitter appears to be doing all it can to protect those participating in the impeachment inquiry from public criticism. Liberal news outlet BuzzFeed noted that the phrase “I hired Donald Trump to fire people like Yovanovitch” was trending on the morning of Nov. 15.

Americans aren’t exactly obsessed with the Democrats’ impeachment hearings, it seems. Friday’s second day of live, wall-to-wall coverage drew an average of 12.7 million viewers on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC and the Fox News Channel combined. With an estimated 254 million persons over the age of 18 in the U.S., that suggests 95 percent (about 241.3 million) were doing something else on Friday.

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi became quite agitated during an interview with Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan, aired on Sunday, when the CBS anchor dared to mention Republican criticism of the impeachment process against President Trump.

The media are so desperate to get President Trump ousted disgracefully from office, that they are already predicting his fate in the history books. On ABC’s Good Morning America Monday, Terry Moran and George Stephanopoulos promoted a new ABC poll which showed 70% of the public believed the Ukraine phone call was “wrong” but only a slight majority supported impeachment. In a Sunday segment on so-called “Reliable Sources”, media janitor and host Brian Stelter proved how much of a clown show CNN was by trotting out disgraced journalist Dan Rather to talk about, of all things: why the “truth still matters.” At the same time, Stelter wanted Rather to talk about how the “truth is closing in” on President Trump, and how the President apparently runs a cult.

All three networks began Friday night’s newscasts with two or three breathless segments touting the day’s Democrat impeachment narrative, centered on former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, who they fawned over as a “respected anti-corruption champion” subjected to a “smear campaign” by the president and his advisers.

If Democrats and their allies in the media are trying to convince the country that the current impeachment proceedings are  not a farce, MSNBC's Friday impeachment pre-game show did not help in advancing that goal.
