Trump Impeachment 1 and 2

On Monday's Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN, conservative contributor Rick Santorum was outnumbered on a panel by liberals 5-1 as the group discussed the planned rules for President Donald Trump's impeachment trial in the Republican-controlled U.S. Senate. CNN analysts used words like "farce," "joke," and "atrocity" to complain about the rules.

Though the impeachment trial won’t be deciding anything for a while still, lefty Twitter has hinted at the ultimate result of the sham no matter what “verdict” materializes, and that is either Trump’s removed from office or it’s proof that there are even more coverups going on.  

Hours before the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump began on Tuesday, NBC’s Today show seized on “outraged” Democrats preemptively trashing the proceeding as a “national disgrace” and blasting the rules proposed by Republicans. The broadcast dutifully parroted those talking points despite the slipshod manner in which liberal lawmakers conducted impeachment in the House.

In appearances on both MSNBC's Morning Joe and CNN's New Day today, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer repeatedly accused Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of going along with an alleged "coverup" by President Trump of the impeachment trial, "hook, line, and sinker."  

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) said Jan. 16 that President Donald Trump broke the law when he withheld aid from Ukraine. The union for that “independent, nonpartisan” agency naturally supports Democrats. Just don’t expect the media to tell you about it.

On Saturday, NBC’s Today show actually devoted an entire report to how voters in key swing states were suffering from “impeachment fatigue.” The segment highlighted “concerned” Democrats fearing the attempted removal of President Trump from office was “overshadowing” the 2020 campaign, while Republicans were found to be more energized heading into the election.

In theory, journalists would bristle at taking orders from a political campaign on how to report on something. But MSNBC on Monday has repeatedly embraced the “warning” from the Biden camp to not fall for the “debunked” “disinformation” by Senate Republicans. The journalists at CBS This Morning on Monday alternated between praising former Senator Jeff Flake for his current stand against Donald Trump and complaining that the Republican didn’t take the stand sooner. On the eve of the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, on Monday, NBC’s Today show co-host Craig Melvin lobbed several softballs on the topic to 2020 Democratic candidate Michael Bloomberg. The anchor especially wanted to know: “What makes Donald Trump so dangerous?”

Question: in addition to her duties as an NBC correspondent, is Heidi Przybyla also serving as a PR flack for the Biden campaign? You have to wonder after watching Przybyla's performance today on Morning Joe. Przybyla didn't merely highlight the memo that the Biden campaign has put out as a pre-emptive response to charges of Ukraine corruption—she passionately embraced the memo's findings. 

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made an appearance on the new season of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday night, and was greeted by a raucous 35-second standing ovation for impeaching Donald Trump. Maher touted the Speaker as a socialist Margaret Thatcher --  "our Iron Lady" of the Left -- and worried Pelosi wasn't appreciated enough by the extreme-left sector of the Democrats. 

Amanda Marcotte in Friday's Salon compared the Republican senators at the impeachment trial of being a throwback to the Jim Crow era due to jury nullification. Her latest wacky shtick is that those Republicans will probably act as a throwback to Jim Crow due to jury nullification.

On Friday's PBS NewsHour, pseudoconservative pundit David Brooks noted that public opinion is moving the wrong way for people who want to remove President Trump from office, but he's "99.9 percent guilty" and Adam Schiff will "walk all over" Trump's new defense lawyers, like Ken Starr and Alan Dershowitz, because "he has the evidence on his side."
