Ranting on ESPN's First Take show Thursday, Stephen A. Smith accused Major League Baseball of racism in its punishment of sign stealing offenders. The sports media blog Awful Announcing roasted him for the bizarre accusation, calling his claim "quite a stretch."

An undefeated boxer from San Francisco says he'll never lose to a white boy, and there's barely a whimper in the sports media world that normally has a quick trigger finger on stories involving racism. CNN, the New York Daily News and BBC websites covered the story, but the rest of the sports media -- including those who usually scream the loudest about racism -- saw no evil and heard no evil.
