Reacting Wednesday to President Biden’s State of the Union address from the night prior, the broadcast network mornings newscasts on ABC, CBS, and NBC largely decided to play White House stenographers in touting Biden’s “call[s] for unity” and focus “on common ground and not...partisanship.” It resulted, one network said, in cheers that were akin to American unity after 9/11.

Just hours before President Biden’s first State of the Union address on Tuesday, MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd wailed that the “right-wing echo chamber” was to blame for a majority of Americans having a bad view of the Biden economy in multiple polls. The mission statement of ABC News, and other media outlets, appears to be this: It’s our job to protect you from reality. The Biden administration is crumbling under the weight of record high gas prices and inflation and now what’s seen as an ineffectual response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. On Thursday, all three evening newscasts ignored a brand new CNN poll showing President Biden’s approval ratings are continuing to collapse, with nearly six in ten Americans saying they disapprove of how Biden is handling his job as President. 

CNN’s latest poll dropped Thursday afternoon and, while Inside Politics host John King went through the devastating numbers for President Biden (including 58 percent disapproval), he sought to cushion the blow by insisting his many accomplishments aren’t “sinking in out in America” and it stemmed from a “failure to communicate” by the White House.

President Biden´s approval among Hispanics continues to plummet, and the networks that cater to the nation's largest minority are doing the near-impossible to avoid covering it.

It’s official. Joe Biden is more unpopular than Donald Trump. As of February 1, 2022, Biden’s Real Clear Politics (RCP) average of all the polls showed him at 41.4 percent approval and 54.7 percent disapproval. At this point in his presidency, exactly four years ago, Trump’s RCP average stood at 41.5 percent approval and 54.5 percent disapproval. 

Things are going so bad for the Biden administration that for the second week in a row, one of the liberal Sunday morning talk shows were forced to lead with terrible polling numbers for Biden and the Democrats. On Sunday morning ABC's This Week anchor George Stephanopoulos led the show with the disastrous polling numbers.
