MSNBC Calls Hillary's Comments on Emails and Trump 'Feisty and Funny'
August 15th, 2015 9:19 AM
How about "angry and lame?" After playing a clip of Hillary in Iowa yesterday in which she addressed the email scandal and took a shot at Donald Trump, MSNBC's Richard Wolffe, sitting in for Steve Kornacki, called her comments "feisty and funny."
Have a look and judge for yourself. There's a difference between feisty and flat-out angry. As for funny, Rodney Dangerfield can rest in peace.…
Not News: StemExpress's Thursday Courtroom Setback Against CMP
August 14th, 2015 11:50 PM
As Spencer Raley at NewsBusters noted earlier this evening, StemExpress, "the now infamous biomedical company which allegedly bought fetal tissue from Planned Parenthood for profit, is breaking off its relationship with the nation’s leading abortion provider." Raley referenced a Politico item by Jennifer Haberkorn with a mid-afternoon Friday time stamp. As far as I can tell, it is the only…

Heilemann: Gore 'Hates' Hillary, 'Huge' Problem for Her If He Runs
August 14th, 2015 6:26 PM
This blog brought to you by Orville Redenbacher . . . One short segment on today's With All Due Respect packed plenty of explosive commentary. There was John Heilemann saying that Al Gore "hates" Hillary and that if he gets in the race would be a "huge" problem for her. Lending credence to Heilemann's "hates" claim is the fact that he mentioned having "spent a lot of time" with Gore in 2006. …

Morning Joe: Top Dems Tired of Hillary
August 14th, 2015 9:34 AM
Was our restaurant table bugged? Last night over date-night dinner, my wife, a perspicacious observer of the political scene and, yes, a Bernie backer, said she sensed that Hillary's moment had passed and that people were tired of her.
Cut to today's Morning Joe, and there were Donny Deutsch, Joe Scarborough and an initially reluctant Mika Brzezinski saying much the same thing: that powerful,…
AP Claims Social Security System Has 'Money,' Then Admits It Doesn't
August 13th, 2015 11:44 PM
Carrying water for the left as their pet programs implode while pretending to be an objective reporter is a daunting task. The Associated Press's Stephen Ohlemacher was not up to that task Thursday afternoon. Twice, in relatively early paragraphs of his 31-paragraph writeup, the AP reporter claimed that the Social Security system has "money." He then separately quoted a Democratic congressperson…
AP Revises Job Growth Description From 'Seemingly Robust' to 'Solid'
August 13th, 2015 2:32 PM
It "seems" that a bit of doubt seeped into an economy-related Associated Press report today. An hour later, it was gone.
An early report by Josh Boak with a 10:22 a.m. time stamp found at a subscribing outlet's site described job growth in the past 12 months as "seemingly robust." An hour later, in an expansion of that early report primarily covering today's government release on July retail…

NYT Reporter: Rush Forced Fox to Back Down on Trump
August 13th, 2015 8:30 AM
Did Rush Limbaugh force Fox News, in the wake of the Donald Trump/Megyn Kelly dust-up, to back down and welcome Trump back on its network? That's what New York Times reporter Nick Confessore suggested on today's Morning Joe.
Asked by Mika Brzezinski who was the most powerful person in the media today, Confessore responded: "I think Fox or Rush Limbaugh [whose last name Confessore pronounced "…
NPR Affiliate Host Violates Style Manual, Calling GOPers 'Anti-Choice'
August 12th, 2015 9:15 PM
On the August 10 edition of National Public Radio (NPR) Boston affiliate WBUR's Here & Now program, host Robin Young made reference to pro-life Republicans as "anti-choice." The reference, which violates NPR's own style manual, came in the midst of a discussion with Princeton University professor Julian Zelizer about Republican presidential candidates' plans to roll back various policy…
Arrest of 'Special Asst. to the President' Gets Scant, Poor Coverage
August 12th, 2015 10:52 AM
My, the news about Barvetta Singletary's domestic violence arrest involving gunfire has been kept mighty quiet.
Press reports have typically opened by describing Ms. Singletary as "a White House staffer." Several paragraphs later, readers learn that she is — or perhaps "was," as she has for now "has been placed on temporary unpaid leave and is banned from White House grounds" — the "special…
AP, Reuters Ignore Likely Impact of Bloated Inventories on Growth
August 11th, 2015 3:31 PM
Two wire service dispatches covering the government's June Wholesale Sales and Inventories release either glossed over or completely ignored what others are saying about the report's impact on near-term economic growth.
The final sentence of an unbylined Reuters report vaguely referred to future impact by indicating that current inventory balances, which are bloated by historical standards, "…

Sharpton Astounded Rand Paul Thinks People Who Work Harder Earn More
August 10th, 2015 7:48 PM
In the liberal universe, there's no correlation between hard work or ingenuity and financial success. As President Obama recently put it, the rich are simply "society's lottery winners."
Sounding a similar theme, Al Sharpton today declared it "astounding" that Rand Paul believes that income inequality is due to "some people working harder." Astounding, indeed! What's wrong with Rand? How…
AP's Recall of Michael Brown Saga Continues to Distort History
August 10th, 2015 7:01 PM
The Associated Press has been in Ferguson covering the anniversary of Michael Brown's death and the George Soros-funded out-of-towners leading the "festivities."
I'll leave it to others to dissect the wire service's on-the-street reporting during the past several days. What also concerns me is how AP's reports continue to bitterly cling to half-truths and distortions about how Brown died and the…

Scarborough: Cons Would Trash MSM That Treated Trump Like Fox Did
August 10th, 2015 9:23 AM
Joe Scarborough began with a telling admission: that if he were running the Republican party, he wouldn't let MSNBC host a GOP debate.
But the Morning Joe host went on to make an interesting point today: that if an MSM network had hit Donald Trump with the same sort of gotcha questions that Fox News did during this past Thursday night's debate, the reaction from conservatives would be "…
AP's Double Standard in Covering States' Reactions to Fetal Parts Vids
August 8th, 2015 11:56 PM
The Associated Press has demonstrated a double standard in covering developments in various states in the wake of the gruesome Planned Parenthood videos posted by the Center for Medical Progress. Bad news for Planned Parenthood gets only local coverage. Exculpatory news, even if artificially concocted, gets national exposure.
In Florida, a statewide review of the state’s 16 Planned Parenthood…
