Socialism causes “hellish” suffering and desperation for Venezuelans. But there’s been a major failure by the broadcast networks in their coverage of the South American country’s economic collapse. They’re not mentioning socialism, hardly at all.  

On his eponymous Sunday morning show, CNN host Fareed Zakaria gave a three-minute commentary in which he bemoaned the increasing influence of evangelical Christians in Latin American countries as he fretted that they are thwarting the "progress" of a liberal agenda on abortion and gay rights.

Just as he did in 2016, Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is once again badly tripping up in his interviews on Univision. In his latest interview with the top U.S. Spanish-language media outlet, the Vermont senator's evident soft spot for disastrous socialist leaders and governments in Latin America left aghast both the network’s viewers and anchors.

On Friday's CNN Tonight, conservative CNN contributor Steve Cortes was outnumbered 2-1 as host Don Lemon and frequent guest and Donald Trump critic Rick Wilson lambasted him for supporting President Trump's plan to declare a national emergency to build a border wall.

Appearing as a panel member on Monday's Anderson Cooper 360, longtime liberal CNN commentator Paul Begala acted like a misinformed man who gets all his news by watching too much CNN as he not only made incorrect claims about illegal immigration across the Southern border, but he also contradicted himself on whether there is a "crisis" situation on the border.

Trump’s approval rating among Latinos has hit 50%, as I wrote it would nearly three years ago, in March of 2016. His approval rating could go on to surpass even this marker by addressing the border crisis at its source. This would be a disruptive, transformational development for all of Latin America.

On Thursday's New Day show, CNN's John Avlon presented another of his infamous "Reality Check" segments which is more akin to liberal spin than an actual effort to clearly inform viewers about the issues. The CNN analyst argued against a border wall as he cited Politifact to dismiss claims of 2,000 homicides being committed by illegal immigrants in one year being reported by ICE for FY2018.
