The Big Three networks have delivered an unprecedented boost of positive publicity to Vice President Kamala Harris during the first four weeks of her presidential campaign.

CBS vice presidential debate co-moderator and host of Face the Nation Margaret Brennan offered an unqualified and evidence-free defense of Vice President Kamala Harris- specifically, her widely panned price control proposals, which former President Donald Trump and many others have labeled as “communism”.

Sunday political affairs programming switched gears as the networks prepare to cover (or fawn over) this week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago. With the spotlight on the Democratic ticket, there was nary a mention of the various and sundry scandals surrounding the Democratic vice presidential candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

The Democratic Convention begins tomorrow in Chicago, and there should be absolutely no suspense over how the media will treat Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and the party’s other stars. The MRC’s archives, going back to 1988, show that Democrats always get a huge tailwind of good press coming out of their party conventions.

Ya gotta love it. Long after the 2024 campaign enters the dustbin of history, the Time magazine cover story on Kamala Harris will shine through as a perfect example of just how the liberal “mainstream” media rallies when one of their own is newly front and center.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid and her Friday guests could not control their laughter on The ReidOut at Kamala Harris and Tim Walz discussing the latter’s “white guy tacos” and subsequent GOP reaction. For Reid, the episode proved that they are “normal, relatable, and just downright fun and joyful people,” while their Republican counterparts are not.

A shocking exchange occurred on Univision’s Linea de Fuego (Firing Line), during host Luis Carlos Vélez’s exchange with Maca Casado, Director of Hispanic Media for the Harris-Walz campaign. Under pressure from Velez over the Harris campaign’s use of fake headlines in their Google ads, Casado flippantly told Velez that this was pretty commonplace.

When discussing the media’s biases, we often talk about biases by omission or commission. But tonight we must also consider bias by zone-flooding, wherein the media avoid talking about something potentially detrimental to Democrats by backfilling newscast time with nonsense about Republicans.
