August 26th, 2016 4:12 PM
In a screed published on news channel Fusion’s website on Friday, executive editor Dodai Stewart and editor-in-chief Alexis C. Madrigal demanded that white men need not apply to the job of being presidential debate moderators in the fall: “This isn’t what America looks like. Issues around race, gender, immigration, discrimination and justice are not just talking points – they’re a matter of life…

Karma for the Clintons at Last?

August 26th, 2016 3:22 PM
Hold on; we may finally be getting some fireworks in this lackluster presidential campaign -- as the Clinton Foundation scandal seems to be gathering steam. Could the Clintons finally have to face the music for their adult-lifetime of corruption? Is it possible that Hillary Clinton's lifelong scheme to be America's first female president could be derailed by this power couple's wanton venality?

The Media Make History

August 26th, 2016 3:19 PM
WASHINGTON -- This week I am going to do something unusual. I am going to enter into a conversation with another columnist. Doing so was not so unusual a few decades back. Bill Buckley and James Jackson Kilpatrick did it when provoked, and it was always interesting. But today columnists are godlike figures. They communicate solely with Mount Olympus, and the result is often a bit tedious.

Blogger Not Sure Trump Would Be a Worse President Than Dubya

August 25th, 2016 11:30 PM
Many liberals are certain that a Donald Trump presidency would be an unprecedented fiasco, but The Washington Monthly’s D.R. Tucker isn’t among them. In a Sunday post, Tucker suggested that in terms of racism and overall “incompetence,” a Trump administration would be a sort of sequel to George W. Bush’s, and speculated that Republicans who are backing Hillary Clinton may be, “on a very subtle…

David Rutz at the Washington Free Beacon caught NBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell making a very strange argument on Wednesday’s Morning Joe about Hillary’s staunch opposition to any special prosecutor in the Whitewater scandal. This past January, Donald Trump said, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters.” A rough counterpart to that remark came Wednesday from Eric Levitz, who wrote that a Trump presidency would be so dreadful that “it would be reasonable for the average voter to prefer Hillary Clinton, even if she really did order the murder of Vince Foster.”

August 24th, 2016 2:30 PM
Appearing as a panel member on Wednesday's New Day, liberal CNN political commentator and New York Times columnist Charles Blow ranted about Donald Trump's recent appeals to black voters as being "the most horrible type of bigotry," as he hyperbolically asserted that "It is the kind of bigotry that says, 'I will knock you down while I pretend to pick you up.' It says that 'I am not talking to you…
