Appearing on NBC’s Today show Friday morning, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd lamented that President Trump’s “ego” was standing in the way of a deal being reached to end the government shutdown. Even after acknowledging that Democrats didn’t “have any political incentive to somehow compromise with the President,” Todd never referred to the egos of Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer being a problem.

With California Democrat Nancy Pelosi taking up the speaker’s gavel on Thursday, the liberal media was energized and excited to see how she would take down President Trump. During their evening news programming, the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) gushed about the day’s ceremony on the floor of the House and boasted about how “historic” it was.

ABC and CBS carried Special Reports Thursday afternoon as Democrats took control in the House of Representatives and neither could contain their excitement for what they were “feel[ing] here in the halls” as “a new era” began, causing “an earthquake in Trump world” and supposedly putting the Senate and White House on the defensive due to the midterm national popular vote.

Appearing on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports Thursday afternoon as Nancy Pelosi was reelected Speaker of the House, lefty historian Doris Kearns Goodwin hailed the Democratic leader as “the right person at the right time in the right place.” She went on to describe how “thrilling” it was to see Democrats regain control of the congressional chamber and bring “joy” back to Washington.

During a lengthy exclusive interview with incoming Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for Thursday’s Today show, NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie touted how the Democratic leader questioned President Trump’s “manhood” and wondered if Pelosi thought Trump was “afraid” of her or women newly elected to Congress.

On Wednesday's MSNBC Live with Stephanie Ruhle, liberal talk radio host and frequent MSNBC guest Mark Thompson declared that baby Jesus, as an immigrant, would have been separated from his parents and might have died in detention if he had lived under President Donald Trump's rule.

Fresh from his drunken New Year’s Eve bender with colleague Brooke Baldwin, CNN Tonight host Don Lemon was excitedly looking forward to California Representative Nancy Pelosi becoming Speaker of the House on Thursday. During his Wednesday night show, he boasted about how “Democrats are salivating at the idea that they could eat [President Trump’s] lunch”, and flaunted his own salivation.

With the partial government shutdown in its 12th day Wednesday, President Trump invited Democratic leaders to the White House to negotiate on the budget. As would be expected the liberal media sided with the Democrats. During coverage of the shutdown on ABC’s World News Tonight, the network suggested Trump was the one “digging in” while they portrayed Democrats as the heroes offering a “pathway”…

On Wednesday, all three network morning shows rang in the New Year by touting Democrats trying to “bring order to the chaos of Trump’s Washington” and using the government shutdown to bash Republicans. In addition, the broadcasts hyped the impact of the budget impasse by claiming that America’s national parks were being overwhelmed by “mounds of trash.”

Another year, another opportunity for TV writers to express their liberal bias and deeply-rooted Trump Derangement Syndrome. Unless you’re a fan of bashing conservatives, stroking racial tensions, and sexualizing children, 2018 was not a great year for television. As I feared, things have definitely gotten worse. 

On New Year's Eve, The Washington Post published a 2,800-word piece objecting to conservative advocacy by Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The headline splashed on the front of the Style section: "The voice beside the robe: Ginni Thomas is the say-anything conservative counterpart to her Supreme Court spouse." The Post would like her to shut up.
