Fresh off his time in the spin room following Wednesday’s 2020 Democratic presidential debate, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews partnered with a team of liberal sycophants on Thursday to wax poetic that, in this impeachment inquiry, Democrats haven’t been partisan in presenting evidence in arguing for the impeachment (and removal) of President Trump.

Worried that Democrats have not yet made a successful case for the impeachment of President Trump, during NBC’s special coverage of the hearings on Thursday, Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd urged Democrats to expand the testimony and call more witnesses. He insisted that “there’s more bread crumb trails to follow” and that Democrats still need a “closer.”

During a discussion on Thursday’s Today show about the impact of Wednesday’s impeachment hearings, co-host Savannah Guthrie amazingly admitted that the American people agreed with conservative National Review editor Rich Lowry and were generally opposed to the Democratic attempt to remove President Trump from office.

During an 11:00 a.m. ET hour break in Wednesday’s impeachment hearing, all three broadcast networks eagerly proclaimed the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, was “directly implicating” President Trump in a “quid pro quo” with Ukraine. However, just minutes later, those same networks admitted that Sondland never heard any such thing directly from the President.

On Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, while recounting Tuesday’s impeachment hearings, correspondent Major Garrett hammered House Republicans for daring to criticize or raise credibility issues about some of the witnesses. The reporter claimed the GOP members were demanding a “loyalty test” from those government officials in support of President Trump.

During a late-morning break in Tuesday’s impeachment hearing, as part of NBC special coverage, Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd claimed that only viewers of “the President’s favorite cable channel,” Fox News, could possibly understand the “bizarre” line of questioning from House Republicans during the proceedings.

As Tuesday’s impeachment hearing was about to begin, special coverage on NBC and CBS focused not on facts but on how House Democrats could “weave a compelling tale of wrongdoing” against President Trump that would result in them “winning the court of public opinion.”
