The new documentary From the Ashes is Michael Bloomberg’s latest volley in his personal war on coal. According to Variety in April 2017, Bloomberg’s environmental efforts included spending $100 million to move the U.S. away from coal — funding which included a new anti-coal feature length documentary: From the Ashes.

Climate activist Tom Steyer thinks “grassroots” and Astroturf are the same thing. The billionaire told Politico he would spend $7.5 million in eight states this year to teach young voters about “traditional American ways of grass-roots organizing.”

The broadcast networks routinely cover so-called “hate” crimes, but when conservative nonprofits were smeared as hate groups, they said nothing. The Associated Press (AP) reported on June 8, nonprofit-tracking organization Guidestar had added “hate group” tags to 46 nonprofit groups’ profiles including The Family Research Council (FRC) and The American Family Association.

Anderson Cooper wore his bias on his sleeve in a recent interview with former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Cooper brought Bloomberg on his show June 20, to discuss his new coal documentary and failed to challenge him about the millions the billionaire politician spent to shut down coal plants.

Georgians in the sixth Congressional district just elected their first female to the House of Representatives in the most expensive House race in history. Judicial Watch recently filed a lawsuit against the Department of Justice after uncovering evidence it forced companies to give money to left-wing nonprofits during the Obama administration — nonprofits which also received millions from billionaire George Soros and other liberal foundations.

The defamation case Reuters called a “trial of a lifetime,” between Beef Products Inc. and ABC over the network’s coverage of its lean finely texture beef product continued with an amazing allegation. The network news also continued ignoring the trial, in spite of depositions of ABC employees which were shared with the court the week of June 12.

President Donald Trump declared he would bring coal jobs back to the U.S. — first on the campaign trail and then after he was elected. Network news media reacted with a mix of skepticism and criticism. ABC and NBC evening news programs both disputed Trump’s claims and then ignored the opening of a new coal mine weeks later. In contrast, CBS Weekend News reported on the new mine.

Washington Post business columnist Steven Pearlstein’s argument that businesses “dump” President Donald Trump demonstrated why many Americans think the liberal media is out of touch with reality. “Now is the time for business leaders to dump Trump — for the good of the country,” the headline of Pearlstein’s proclaimed on the front page of the Post’s Business section June 11. 

Squawk Box co-host Joe Kernen condemned climate change as a “socialist, global wealth redistribution scheme” on Twitter. “Who in their right minds believes this?” he tweeted on June 9, “And what does it say about the veracity of CAGW [Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming] if acolytes call this ‘science’ and accept as fact?”
