NewsBusters Podcast: Karine Won't Come Clean on the Biden Scandals

July 7th, 2023 10:42 PM

Joe Biden pledged to bring transparency and truth back to the White House. But a new MRC study found White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre was asked 252 scandal questions over the last six months (January through June), and offered a substantive response on only six occasions. The dominant mode of answer is a non-answer. This is the way Team Biden wants it, and most reporters aren't going to object.

MRC's Bill D'Agostino performed the study, and discusses the findings. The vast majority of scandal questions centered on Biden's misuse of classified documents, including some found in the garage of his personal home in Wilmington, Delaware, where Hunter Biden could have reviewed them on behalf of his foreign clients.

On July 5, Catherine Lucey of The Wall Street Journal asked: “There was a story in The New York Times over the weekend about Hunter Biden's daughter in Arkansas. Does the President acknowledge this little girl as his granddaughter?" Jean-Pierre flatly dismissed it: “I don't have anything to share from here.” Normally, a non-answer leads to the network news skipping clips from the briefing. That's mission accomplished.
