The media are not trusted. They're not popular. Now, they're not very profitable. The anti-Trump business model is failing, and CNN's ratings are cratering. Last week, they had the worst ratings in nine years, drawing under 450,000 viewers in prime time, while Fox News had over 2 million.
Despite CNN CEO Chris Licht's promises to move toward more news and less opinion, they're doubling down on liberal bias, trashing Ron DeSantis and Benjamin Netanyahu this week. Jake Tapper suggested to Netanyahu that he was stumbling toward autocracy in Israel. Former Obama education secretary Arne Duncan said Ron DeSantis has a "white nationalist agenda," and the CNN anchor sat there like a potted plant.
In The Washington Post, their former executive editor Leonard Downie penned a pompous piece suggesting the way to building public trust is by abandoning objectivity, since that's white, male, and stale. It ruins the news with "bothsidesism." You ever notice that the people who boast they are the defenders of democracy are the first to suppress a two-sided debate?
