No Objections: Larry King Silent as Flynt Smears Cops, Priests

May 27th, 2015 5:44 PM

Larry King on Wednesday sat silently with no objections as porn-peddler Larry Flynt smeared most cops as "racist" and "a lot" of priests as "pedophiles." King, who now hosts a show on Russia Today, asked for the Hustler publisher's "thoughts" on Ferguson and other cities. Flynt slimed, "To be a policeman in just about any police force in this nation, you have to have a certain mentality and unfortunately, that mentality incorporates racism."

King blandly offered that "the one person who should not be a racist is a cop." The pornographer retorted, "Many of them are. Many of them are." Rather than question this broad generalization, the anchor accepted it and simply wondered, "There's no way of weeding that out?"

It was at that point that Flynt expanded his attack to include Catholics:

FLYNT: No, because, look – priests, a lot of them are pedophiles because they gravitate towards where they could exercise their morbid desires. Okay? Policemen, many of them, you know, harbor racist tendencies.

King is legendary for lazy questions. On the Supreme Court, he boringly offered, "They're going to rule in June on same sex marriage. How do you think that's going to go?"But even King should be able to offer a follow-up about whether "many" cops are racist and "a lot" of priests are pedophiles.

LARRY KING: Police misconduct in Ferguson and New York and Baltimore. Now, most cops, I'm sure you'll agree, are good citizens. Do their job well, take their lives in their hands every day. What are your thoughts on those three cities?

LARRY FLYNT: To be a policeman in just about any police force in this nation, you have to have a certain mentality and unfortunately, that mentality incorporates racism. You know, race goes far deeper than the color of the skin. We've had it for centuries. We still have it now and it's very unfortunate we can't have a more constructive dialogue on race. Because until we get that out of our politics and our policing, you know, we're never going to be able to solve the problem.

KING: Well, the one person who should not be a racist, no one should be a racist, but the one person who should not be a racist, is a cop.

FLYNT: Many of them are. Many of them are.

KING: There's no way of weeding that out?

FLYNT: No, because, look – priest, a lot of them are pedophiles because they gravitate towards where they could exercise their morbid desires. Okay? Policemen, many of them, you know, harbor racist tendencies. I'm not saying that all policemen are racist. I'm just saying that this is just a fact, you know, of being a part of being a police department.
