After being cast out into the wilderness by NBCUniversal last year, things didn’t appear to be going well for the rebranded “MS NOW.” On Wednesday, a shakeup was announced that saw daytime completely reshaped with two anchors losing their seats with at least one already announcing that she had quit, Morning Joe experiencing some shrinkage, while a new face would appear during the 11th Hour, among other shifts.
Going down the line up, first, Morning Joe will be losing an hour. After spending some time at an inflated four hours of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski shrieking at the camera, the purported preferred morning show for Washington D.C. insiders would be returning to just three hours.
Anchor Stephanie Ruhle will be leaving The 11th Hour and taking over that lost hour from Morning Joe, as well as the following one. Meaning her time slot would be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
One of the more noteworthy line items in the shakeup was Ana Cabrera losing her position as an anchor of the 11a a.m. slot, and her announcement that she would be leaving the company. In a video posted to X, Cabrera told fans:
Hey friends, I have some personal news I want to share with you. I have decided to make a change and I am leaving MS NOW. Throughout my career, I have always sought the best opportunities to do this work and have the greatest impact, while staying true to myself and my mission as a journalist.
My goal has always been to educate and inform and shine light; to hold people in power accountable, people on all sides of the political aisle, and non-politicians as well; to be a government watchdog; to bring you compelling stories from across a broad range of news and to always seek the truth, following the facts wherever they lead. That’s what I’ve always done and what I will continue to do.
Now understand, I am truly grateful for my at MS NOW, for my wonderful colleagues, my amazing team that worked so hard everyday, and for you the viewers who’ve put your trust in me to serve you through this most meaningful work. Thank you.
I’m not leaving immediately. I’ll still be helming the anchor desk for a few more months. But I wanted to give you a heads up and I look forward to sharing more about what’s next for me soon. Stay tuned.

Cabrera will be leaving MS NOW just three years after she left CNN. Her replacement was yet to be named, as of the publication of this piece.
Weeknight anchor Alicia Menendez will be getting moved up from early primetime to take over the noon-2 p.m. slot from Chris Jansing, who will be getting a new title as chief political reporter ahead of the midterms. Luke Russert would be taking over Menendez’s old slot.
Ali Velshi will be getting called up from weekend duty to take over The 11th Hour from Ruhle. While Jacob Soboroff will get getting Velshi's weekend time slots. In a video post to X, Soboroff said: "I'm getting my own show on MS NOW. The news came out today. Check it out, that's me. I am insanely grateful. I've worked here for 11 years. I have never loved a workplace or a group of colleagues or viewers more. I am taking over for the great Ali Velshi, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. He's going to the weekdays. We're going to start in June. Thank you so much! Thank you!"
