ABC News’s conspiracy mill (a.k.a The View) was firing on all cylinders on Tuesday as moderator Whoopi Goldberg seemed to suggest that bail rules were newly invented to keep former President Trump out of jail before his classified documents trial, or at least manipulated. Even though it was federal prosecutors who decided not to push for Trump to pay a bail amount, Goldberg warned “that the judicial system is at risk” since Trump was allowed to walk free.
Amid their conversation about Trump’s announcement that he was informed that he was the subject of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s January 6 investigation, Goldberg whined Trump wasn’t already in an orange jumpsuit and that someone else arrested for espionage was demanding the same treatment as Trump:
GOLDBERG: You know what's bothering me more about all of this? You know the young person that the -- the young man they got for espionage recently? Do you know that he's demanding to be treated exactly the same way as Trump was? He wants to be -- yes, he wants to be able to go home and do everything and that's the thing for me that is most egregious. Nobody goes home.
SUNNY HOSTIN: And nobody should be above the law.
GOLDBERG: Nobody should be above the law. You should be walking – You should actually be in the building that has the bars on it. Both of you.
Without evidence, Goldberg went on to insist that new rules were written to keep Trump out of jail. “They don't let folks walk around but suddenly now, we have that exception to the rule, and this is the dangerous part of all,” she proclaimed.
Racist co-host Sunny Hostin had to explain to Goldberg that “bail is never supposed to be punitive” and that “It has to make sure that defendant will return” for trial.
Hostin went on to falsely claim that prosecutors made Trump give up his passport and bloviated about how the only countries that would take him in would be “Putin’s Russia” and North Korea. Co-host Joy Behar added Saudi Arabia to the list.
According to The New York Times, Trump’s arraignment was above board and all part of “a bond agreement to release him on his own recognizance, without bail, that was respectful and accommodating, but profoundly humbling.” And The Washington Post reported that he was not made to give up his passport as Hostin falsely claimed.
No new rules were written and nothing out of the ordinary was done. Liberal outlets would likely be screaming bloody murder if there was.
But the facts didn’t stop Goldberg from being a doomsayer. “I’m just going to point out that the judicial system is at risk when this man who used to be president can walk around and do everything he's doing … There's a problem here,” she screeched.
Whoopi Goldberg’s bail conspiracy theory was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Humana and OxiClean. Their contact information is linked.

Because you're -- you took -- you took documents and gave them to other people. They don't let folks walk around but suddenly now, we have that exception to the rule, and this is the dangerous part of all. There should be no exceptions to this rule.
HOSTIN: I think there’s an exception because bail is never supposed to be punitive. Right? It has to make sure that defendant will return. They – I'm sure taken his passport.
JOY BEHAR: Where is he going?
HOSTIN: I don't know what country would take him other than maybe Putin's Russia or south –
SARA HAINES: Do you mean Trump?
HOSTIN: Yeah.
HAINES: He doesn't fly commercial.
BEHAR: He has his own plane.
HOSTIN: But I'm pretty sure that those are the only two countries that would provide him any sort of –
BEHAR: Which two? Russia and where else?
HOSTIN: South Korea maybe.
BEHAR: Saudi Arabia.
HOSTIN: North Korea. North Korea.

WHOOPI: I’m just going to point out that the judicial system is at risk when this man who used to be president can walk around and do everything he's doing, and then other people who are being put up the same way want the same treatment. There's a problem here. We need to pay attention to what's happening because if it ain't good for the goose, it ain't good for the gander.
