NewsBusters has repeatedly had to fact-check ABC’s The View for the stream of misinformation they’re constantly pumping out of their cesspool. But according to raging co-host Whoopi Goldberg, the First Amendment doesn’t protect those who “willing lie.” That was the basis of her suggestion that the people who work at Fox News needed to be prosecuted by the Department of Justice for “recruiting” “domestic terrorists.”
“I have a question. I have a question,” Goldberg announced during their collective conniption about Fox News host Tucker Carlson airing January 6 footage. “How come this is not thought of as being recruiting? How come they’re not thinking about this as radicalizing?” she ominously asked.
Racist Sunny Hostin wanted a little clarification by asking, “Like recruiting domestic terrorists?” Goldberg confirmed the premise: “Why is this not being scrutinized in the way that they scrutinize other things?”
She never explained what those “other things” that got scrutinized were.
Profoundly ignorant on many things, Goldberg flaunted her ignorance of the First Amendment by suggesting it “doesn't allow you to willingly lie”:
GOLDBERG: Because to me this should be against the law. You should not be able to lie to the American -- knowingly. It's one thing if you made a mistake and you didn't know. But we heard for five or six years how, you know, the media was a lying sack of doo.
GOLDBERG: They were fake news. They were this – So, how come -- what is our -- what do we do as Americans to say this is not okay?
SARA HAINES: You’d have to change the First Amendment.
GOLDBERG: Well, the First Amendment doesn't allow you to willingly lie.
HAINES: That’s their defense is free speech.
That’s not to say lying was right, it’s just pointing out there was no such limit on the right to free speech. If so-called “hate speech” was protected by the First Amendment, why wouldn’t a lie be? If willfully lying was the standard, then The View would’ve been shut down long ago. Like last September, when they defended liberals denying the results of the 2016 presidential election.
After the conversation deviated briefly, Hostin fixated on Goldberg’s vision of locking up people the left deems as liars. “You just said something I don’t think I’ve ever heard on television … about domestic terrorism,” she praised.
Hostin ranted about how “domestic terrorists” were the greatest “threat to our country,” while hinting that the threat only existed from the political right. She also insisted that independent journalists who used Substack were a threat “to the survival of our democracy.” “How do you recruit domestic terrorists? How do you do that? Misinformation, having these kinds of rallies, saying these things, and these Substacks,” she said.
Amid this unhinged rambling, Hostin touted Goldberg’s ridiculous “recruiting” deduction as “brilliant” and warned that Carlson was the most dangerous recruiter “because he’s grabbing these people.”
Joy Behar chimed in to suggest that Fox News’s supposed recruitment of domestic terrorists was happening at military bases across the country. “They also broadcast Fox News a lot on military bases, in airports you see it a lot. So, the proliferation of the lies is going out to places that it should not,” she warned.
Hostin built off that by falsely claiming “all of the armed forces” was filled to the brim with “white supremacists.”
Now, what was that about lying being illegal?
These unhinged lies from The View were made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Prevagen and Purina. Their contact information is linked.

HOSTIN: But Whoopi, you just said something I don’t think I’ve ever heard on television.
GOLDBERG: No, rarely.
HOSTIN: About domestic terrorism.
GOLDBERG: Yes!
HOSTIN: Because you had the FBI director, Chris Wray say the number one threat to our country, to the survival of our democracy is domestic terrorists. How do you recruit domestic terrorists? How do you do that? Misinformation, having these kinds of rallies, saying these things, and these Substacks.
And someone with Tucker Carlson -- you would know better than I do -- how many millions and millions of viewers – We get 3 million on this show. That's a lot! I’m really proud of it.
ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: He's the most watched man on cable news.
HOSTIN: He gets more than that. And – And what you just said was brilliant [points to Goldberg] because he’s grabbing these people.
BEHAR: They also broadcast Fox News a lot on military bases, in airports you see it a lot. So, the proliferation of the lies is going out to places that it should not.”
HOSTIN: White supremacists have infiltrated all of the armed forces.
BEHAR: Yes.
