On Monday, the community of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota was teetering on the verge of another night of violent riots after an officer apparently shot a suspect on accident, discharging her duty pistol instead of the Taser she announced. In response, CNN sent their buzzards to circle the area and glorify the violence in a renewed push of the anti-police narrative. But one unknown man stepped up to CNN and called them out in an expletive lased dress down.
Far-left correspondent Sara Sidner was making her way towards the chaos at the Brooklyn Center Police Department when the unnamed man swooped in to call out her and the rest of the media:
MAN: And as you can see, y’all be twisting up the story and shit y’all doin’.
SIDNER: Do you want to talk to me? You want to talk to me?
MAN: Yeah I do. [Reaches for mic]
SIDNER: Okay, cool. Don't take my mic. We're cool. What's your name?
MAN: What's my name? My name is my name.
“What I think about this is all the press and all the extra shit y’all do makes this worse,” he declared. Sidner seemed confused by his comment, asking: “You think so?”
While it was unclear by what he specifically meant by “twisting up the story and shit,” the man then argued that people should not be gathering at the police station, and seemed to suggest they should be protesting at someplace that could make the change they wanted.
“Yes. When people want to protest they shouldn't do it in front of a fucking police station. Yeah. Courthouse. Shit like that. You get what the fuck I'm saying,” he crassly pressed.
Sidner tried to defuse the situation by telling the man that she feared for his safely:
SIDNER: I want you to be careful. I want you to be careful. I really do.
MAN: Of what?
SIDNER: Of anything that can hit you.
MAN: Of what?
SIDNER: Of anything that could hit you. Look at all the stuff coming --
MAN: Of what?
SIDNER: Of this.
MAN: Do I look like I'm scared?
SIDNER: No, you don't.
MAN: Do I look like I'm scared?
SIDNER: You don't, you don’t.
“Exactly. Y’all need to get up out of here with all that twisting up the media and shit. Real shit,” he shot back. To show her interest in talking about something “real,” Sidner offered to give the man her number in order to conduct an interview at a later time, but the man wasn’t buying it.
He accused Sidner of recording video just to edit it later, only to have her inform him that they were indeed live to the world at that very moment (click “expand”):
SIDNER: All right, here's my phone, let's go ahead and show me a number.
MAN: Nah. You got the camera out, talk about something that's real.
SIDNER: Tell me what's real.
MAN: Y’all just going to edit out the shit you don’t want.
SIDNER: We're live.
MAN: You're going to edit out some other shit.
SIDNER: Listen, we’re live right now.
MAN: You're not fucking live.
SIDNER: I'm live right now.
MAN: I don’t care if you’re live or not. Get away from here with all that media shit that y’all doin’.
SIDNER: Okay, but we can’t edit here. This is live. This is live right now.
MAN: Look.
SIDNER: We're with CNN.
MAN: Then take that camera all the way the fuck up there then.
“That’s where we’re going when you stopped us,” Sidner explained. “Listen, we’re going up there. All right, you watch us. That's where we're going.”
They parted ways shortly thereafter, with the man telling them to “Take y’all ass up there.”
