In the latest example of the liberal media siding with a foreign government against President Trump, ABC News and NBC News dedicated a portion of their Monday evening newscasts to hyping the U.K. ambassador to the U.S. bad mouthing the President in leaked diplomatic cables.
It was clear that both outlets were simply giddy to report that “President Trump tweeting his administration will no longer deal with Britain's ambassador to the U.S. after leaked diplomatic cables revealed the ambassador describing the Trump administration as ‘dysfunctional,’ ‘diplomatically can clumsy,’ and ‘inept.’” As ABC correspondent Kyra Phillips did in that quote on World News Tonight, where the on-screen headline read: "Trump slams ambassador."
Of course, ABC had to note that British Ambassador Kim Darroch was “warning” his country that “Trump and his family may have been entangled with ‘dodgy Russians.’” And that was just a taste of all the anti-Trump comments Phillips wanted to share with viewers:
In the memos obtained by The Daily Mail, ambassador Kim Darroch declares, "I don't think this administration will ever look competent." He writes that President Trump "radiates insecurity", and when dealing with him, "you need to make your points simple, even blunt." He says the President's life has been "mired in scandal,"…
“Prime Minister Theresa May's office calls the whole episode, quote, ‘a matter of regret,’ but says the Ambassador continues to have the Prime Minister's full support,” Phillips added as she wrapped up the segment. “And just moments ago, David, we learned that the Ambassador has actually been disinvited from an official dinner with President Trump tonight.”
Meanwhile, on NBC Nightly News, chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell presented her own mash-up of the critical quotes from the Ambassador:
Tonight, the U.S. and Britain in an uproar over a diplomatic bombshell, secret cables leaked to a British tabloid. In a brutal critique of Mr. Trump going back two years, Kim Darroch, the British ambassador to the U.S., telling Downing Street the President “radiates insecurity,” calling his administration “inept” and “uniquely dysfunctional.”
After quoting President Trump as saying the Ambassador was “not liked or well thought of within the U.S.,” she then sought to contradict him. “Contrary to the President's tweet, the ambassador's highly regarded and frequently hosts Trump officials.” She added.
Though, Mitchell did report that U.K. Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt “tried to smooth over the rift.” “I don’t share the Ambassador's assessment of either the U.S. administration or relations with the U.S. administration, but I do defend his right to make that frank assessment,” Hunt said in NBC’s sound bite.
That’s the exact opposite tone Phillips tried to set with her sound bite of Hunt, in which prefaced it as the Foreign Secretary “defending the ambassador.”
Here's the ABC sound bite of Hunt: “We pay them as taxpayers to give us their frank assessment of the situation in the countries where they are serving, which is what our ambassador in Washington was doing. But it's a personal view.”
ABC and NBC were eager to share this negative assessment of Trump from a foreign power. Yet, the CBS Evening News skipped it.

The President tweeting today: “I do not know the ambassador, but he is not liked or well thought of within the U.S. We will no longer deal with him. The good news for the wonderful United Kingdom is that they will soon have a new prime minister.”
The front runner to become prime minister, the President's favorite, Boris Johnson. Contrary to the President's tweet, the ambassador's highly regarded and frequently hosts Trump officials. Earlier, the British government tried to smooth over the rift.

MITCHELL: The British government is investigating the leak, looking both inside and at a possible cyber-attack even from Russia or Iran.

This as the U.S. and Britain face a new threat from Iran, breaching a critical limit on nuclear fuel set by the Iran nuclear deal. Moving a step closer to possibly a nuclear weapon. President Trump abandoned the deal last year and is threatening more sanctions. Lester.
