MRC’s Bozell Takes Blowtorch to Network Cover-Up of Biden Crime Family Allegations

EDITOR’S NOTE, February 16, 2024: On February 15, Justice Department Counsel David Weiss indicted FBI informant Alexander Smirnov on two felony counts of making a false statement and creating a false and fictitious record for claims made to the bureau. The charges are in relation to June 2020 FD-1023 form alleging President Joe Biden and son Hunter Biden received a combined $10 million in a bribery scheme involving the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma.

Firing on all cylinders, MRC Founder and President Brent Bozell joined Fox Business Network host Stuart Varney on Tuesday’s Varney & Co. to highlight the liberal media’s years of election interference by ignoring substantive allegations of crimes and wrongdoing by the Biden family.

Bozell was cued up by a clip of Biden biographer Frank Foer insisting on Sunday that Biden and his team are “probably right” in their gripes “about the media” being “tougher than he deserves”.

The MRC President then listed off a series of claims about the Biden family that have not “been disputed” and received zero seconds of coverage on the flagship newscasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC. Here were the first four, including two on recent bombshells about Joe Biden using aliases in e-mails:

On May [sic] 9, the New York Post reported that Hunter Biden had taken $20 million from the Kazakhs, the Romanians, the Ukrainians, the Russians and the Chinese. Network coverage? Zero.

On June 8, Fox News confirmed that Biden had taken — Joe Biden $5 million from Burisma. Network news coverage? Zero.

James Comer came out with the report saying that the Biden family had been hiding this money through a web of 20 LLCs while not showing any work performed for that $20 million. Network news coverage? Zero.

August 17, the New York Post came out with a story showing that President Biden was using the Robert Peters alias. Zero.

The same day James Comer released his report showing that Joe Biden was using numerous aliases. Network news coverage? Zero.

Bozell had four more, ranging from an infamous voicemail to a confirmation about Joe Biden being “the big guy” referenced in the Tony Bobulinski saga to Hunter’s business partner having visited the White House 19 times to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg admitting the FBI pressured the platform in 2020 to suppress coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Tossing back to Varney, Bozell took a shot at Foer: “Now, what was the question again about them being too tough?”

Varney ended by asking Bozell a trademark question of the FBN host, which was whether the liberal media have or will finally turn against Biden and his allies?

Bozell obviously said they won’t, based on “everything I just said” and stated there would have been rolling, breaking news coverage for each of these revelations if it were a Republican presidency, no matter if it were Trump, both Bushes, Reagan, Nixon, or anyone else.

“This man is standing accused...of taking bribery from the Chinese government, the moral enemy of the United States and working on these deals through his son when he was vice president. If they can’t cover that now, his age is irrelevant compared to the fact that real crimes, I think...have been committed for which this man should be going to prison,” Bozell concluded.

[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: Media Says Coverage of Biden Has Been Too Tough]

STUART VARNEY: Some in the media are trying to claim coverage of president Biden has been tougher than he deserves. Watch this again.

FRANK FOER [on NBC’s Meet the Press, 09/03/23]: I think Biden has — of course, every president who suffers an upside down approval rating is going to moan about the media and there is some truth to it. [SCREEN WIPE] With the Biden administration, there’s this — been this desire on the part of the press to reassert its standards of objectivity. So, I think, on certain measures he’s probably right. He has been covered probably tougher than he deserves.

VARNEY: Well, look who’s here now, Brent Bozell. He watches the media for a living and he joins us right now. Do you see it that way? Tougher coverage than he deserves?

BRENT BOZELL: Alright, let me give you some numbers here and — and I want to stress here that nothing I’m about to say has been disputed. Zero. The story came out that there was a voicemail from Hunter to Joe saying, “I think you’re in the clear.” Network news coverage? Zero. July 27, the New York Post confirmed the big guy alias confirmation that was in that laptop where Joe Biden was going to get 10 percent. Network news coverage? Zero. Hunter Biden’s business partner — why would he be in the White House? Eric Schwerin was there in the White House, confirmed 19 times. Network news coverage? Zero. And my favorite, Mark Zuckerberg comes out and publicly declares the FBI put pressure on Facebook not to cover the Hunter Biden laptop story, which censorship cost Donald Trump the election. Network news coverage? Zero.

[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: Brent Bozell on the Media’s Coverage of Biden]

VARNEY: Zero.

BOZELL: Now, what was the question again about them being too tough?

VARNEY: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Point taken, Brent. Point taken. I’m going to move on to this. Op-ed in the New York Post: “Nonstop media bias from Russiagate to the Biden crime family cover-up”. Clearly, the media’s been playing defense for Biden. Now, we got that and we got — we got your report right there. Are there any signs at all that things are changing? I mean, they have been after them for his age and infirmity. Is that a sign of change on the part of the media?

[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: Op-Ed: Media Ignores Facts on Biden’s Scandals]

BOZELL: No. Simply go back to everything I just said. Ask yourself, if this were the Trump administration, at what point would they have started live coverage — breaking news, live coverage a la Brett Kavanaugh? With every one of these touch points, it would be breaking news. The same thing would have applied had it been George Bush 43, George Bush 45 [sic], Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, any Republican would get this kind of coverage. What I just gave you, Stuart, were — were about ten different inflection points, all of which deserve national coverage. No, this thing is going to continue. This man is standing accused with evidence of bribery — of taking bribery from the Chinese government, the moral enemy of the United States and working on these deals through his son when he was vice president. If they can’t cover that now, his age is irrelevant compared to the fact that real crimes, I think, have been created — have been committed for which this man should be going to prison.

VARNEY: Got it. Brent, you’ve covered it extensively and that was pretty good coverage. Thanks for being with us this morning, Brent Bozell. Alright.

BOZELL; Thank you, Stuart.
