Nets SILENT on Clinton Spying on Trump, Cover Skating Scandal Instead

February 14th, 2022 1:07 PM

After the network Sunday shows all censored the shocking revelations from special prosecutor John Durham’s investigation that the Hillary Clinton campaign spied on Donald Trump’s campaign and presidency, Monday’s network morning shows maintained the deafening silence. Instead, the NBC, ABC, and CBS broadcasts spent over eight minutes covering the Russian skating scandal at the Olympics.

The networks have so far spent zero seconds on Fox News reporting that Durham’s uncovered how “Lawyers for the Clinton campaign paid a technology company to ‘infiltrate’ servers belonging to Trump Tower, and later the White House, in order to establish an ‘inference’ and ‘narrative’ to bring to government agencies linking Donald Trump to Russia.”

However, as then-Media Research Center Research Director Rich Noyes found in 2020:

During the President’s first year in office, one-fifth of all broadcast evening news coverage was spent on the Russia investigation, wrapping Trump in a perpetual cloud of suspicion and stealing valuable airtime away from key administration initiatives. By the time it ended in 2019, those three newscasts alone had spent an astounding 2,634 minutes on the Mueller probe, yammering endlessly about a “constitutional crisis” even as they buried crucial questions surrounding the investigation’s bias...

Just before this year’s election, declassified notes exposed the Russia collusion probe as a Hillary Clinton “plan” to distract from her e-mail server, and that President Obama was briefed on that plan. Despite spending such a huge amount of airtime over three years chasing the Russia story, ABC, CBS and NBC refused to provide even a second of coverage to these damning documents.

During the 7:00 a.m. ET hour of Monday’s Fox & Friends, as part of the morning show’s extensive cover of the new Durham investigation developments, co-host Steve Doocy spoke with former Trump administration Deputy National Security Advisor K.T. McFarland about the unfolding scandal. He noted: “These were an invention and a fabrication of her campaign and internet company number one.”

McFarland declared: “They were infiltrating the Trump campaign, thinking they were going to find evidence about Russia. When they didn’t find any evidence about Russia, they made up the story anyway and then pushed it to the press.”

She later asked a question that all journalists should be asking: “I’ve got a big question about the role of Jake Sullivan played. He is currently the National Security Advisor....And yet, he was the guy who was the main guy who spun and made up this fake news story and then pushed it to the press. Is he ever going to be held accountable?”

Doocy demanded: “And K.T., why is Fox and The New York Post, why are those the only two spots that are  talking about this?” McFarland called out the stunning media silence:

Well, it’s because all the other media was in on the con. They were all in on it. They were the ones that did Russia, Russia, Russia. I mean, they destroyed my career, my reputation. Cost me, you know, hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees with the Mueller investigation. So the media, they don’t want to touch this because they’re complicit in it. They don’t want to have to be called before a grand jury and have to say where they got the fake story and why they continue to peddle it.

Here is a transcript of McFarland’s February 14 exchange with Doocy:

7:24 AM ET

STEVE DOOCY: John Durham’s stunning investigation revealing the Clinton campaign paid to infiltrate Trump servers while he was president and candidate to find ties linking him to Russia. The probe putting Clinton herself under scrutiny over her 2016 tweets promoting the now-debunk theory, like this one, where she insisted: “It’s time for Trump to answer serious questions about his ties to Russia.” K.T. McFarland served as Deputy National Security Adviser under President Trump and is the author of Revolution, she joins us right now. K.T., good morning to you.

K.T. MCFARLAND: Good morning. Happy Valentine’s Day.

DOOCY: Indeed. So, when Hillary Clinton is tweeting, “It’s time for Donald Trump to answer these questions about the connection to Russia,” there weren’t any. We know that now. These were an invention and a fabrication of her campaign and internet company number one.

MCFARLAND: Yeah. I mean, here’s what was happening. They were infiltrating the Trump campaign, thinking they were going to find evidence about Russia. When they didn’t find any evidence about Russia, they made up the story anyway and then pushed it to the press.

(...)

DOOCY: Going back to this fabrication which never actually happened. So, it’s one of those things like why did we waste all this time? Clearly it was a dirty trick that got out of hand because she was supposed to win. We never would have found out about this.

(...)

MCFARLAND: I’ve got a big question about the role of Jake Sullivan played. He is currently the National Security Advisor. The guy who’s in charge of dealing with the Afghan withdrawal, with the negotiations with the Chinese, the with the impending crisis with Ukraine. And yet, he was the guy who was the main guy who spun and made up this fake news story and then pushed it to the press. Is he ever going to be held accountable?

DOOCY: And K.T., why is Fox and The New York Post, why are those the only two spots that are  talking about this?
