On CBS Sunday Morning, correspondent and longtime Democratic Party shill Martha Teichner bitterly warned of “trench warfare” during a Joe Biden administration due to the closeness of the election results and the fact that his left-wing agenda “will hit a formidable red wall” in a likely Republican Senate still controlled by Mitch McConnell.
Teichner bemoaned that the election showed “no real movement across the ideological divide” and feared: “Think World War I trench warfare, advances and retreats measured in feet, stalemate, but a war just the same.” She further sounded the alarm: “New York’s Times Square boarded up, an unscalable wall around Donald Trump’s White House, armed protestors. Describe an emotion you’ve felt this past week: Anxiety, fear of what might happen?”
Ignoring the fact that much of that “anxiety” was over radical far-left rioters causing violence depending on the election outcome, Teichner turned to The Carter Center’s Hrair Balian to warn of American society crumbling amid political disagreements:
You know, 50 years ago, when I moved to the U.S. from Lebanon, I never thought I would be concerned about violence, conflict, and even bloodshed in this – in this country....I think Americans should be worried about the fabric of our society really fracturing. We haven’t crossed that line, it hasn’t fractured yet. But we’re not too far from that line either.
“A national street party erupted across the United States,” Teichner hailed, noting reaction to Biden being declared the winner on Saturday. She then lamented: “Not celebrating, the roughly 70 million Americans who voted for President Trump.”
In a stunning display of hypocrisy from a network that pushed the false Russian collusion narrative for years to discredit President Trump’s 2016 election, Teichner fretted: “How many of them no longer trust the legitimacy of the process?...What is the long-term cost to our democracy of widespread doubt?”
She also whined that Biden would be prevented from implementing the Democratic Party’s left-wing agenda due to Republican success in congressional races:
President-Elect Biden’s agenda will hit a formidable red wall there, by name of Mitch McConnell. You know, the same Mitch McConnell who set out to make Barack Obama a one-term president. The same Mitch McConnell who sabotaged Obama’s court pick, Merrick Garland.
Trying to cheer herself up, Teichner happily declared: “The dozens and dozens of executive orders and regulatory rollbacks President Trump signed into effect. With the stroke of his pen, Joe Biden plans to start undoing them on day one, January 20th.”
She then noted that Biden is also “expected to re-engage with the world, all be it, a warier world.” That sentiment was echoed by anti-Trump CNN host Fareed Zakaria, who worried that the world was traumatized by Trump:
The world has seen that there is this – this backlash in America to its engagement in the world. And so it won’t be able to forget it. You know, Joe Biden can demonstrate that there are two Americas and one does want to be engaged. You know, he can move aggressively and intelligently, but it won’t change the fact that people have seen that other America. And they know it’s lying there, maybe dormant for now, but it could rear its head again.
It seems that the left, whether in the Democratic Party or the propagandist media, are in a perpetual state of grievance that they won’t have unlimited power to force through their radical policies.

TEICHNER: Within an hour, news organizations, including CBS, called the election for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
KAMALA HARRIS: We did it, Joe. You’re going to be the next President of the United States.
TEICHNER: [Cheers & Applause] A national street party erupted across the United States. Not celebrating, the roughly 70 million Americans who voted for President Trump.
TRUMP SUPPORTERS: We won’t stop!
TEICHNER: How many of them no longer trust the legitimacy of the process? Such as this man in Georgia, echoing the President’s words.
UNIDENTIFIED MAN [GEORGIA TRUMP VOTER]: It almost seemed like they were waiting to see how many votes Trump had, and then they would count the rest to make sure Biden had just enough.
TEICHNER: What is the long-term cost to our democracy of widespread doubt?
JOE BIDEN: I’ll work as hard for those who didn’t vote for me as those who did. Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end here and now! [Applause and cheering]
TEICHNER: How likely is it that Joe Biden will convince nearly half the electorate that he is their president, too?
BIDEN: Our nation is shaped by the constant battle between our better angels and our darkest impulses, and what presidents say in this battle matters. It is time for better angels to prevail.
JOE KLEIN: I’m not going to be a pollyanna here. This is going to be really hard, it’s going to be one of the hardest things we’ve had to do as a republic, which is to tone things down.
