ABC & CBS Wail That Radical Socialist AOC Didn’t Get More Time at DNC

When the far-left are unhappy, their supporters in the media are unhappy. That rule was clearly on display Wednesday morning as ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning both whined that radical socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was not given enough time to spout her anti-capitalism propaganda at the Democratic National Convention.

While cheering on the attempt by Democrats to sell the Biden-Harris ticket, during a report at the top of the show, ABC correspondent Mary Bruce complained that Ocasio-Cortez was not getting the celebrity treatment that she deserved: “One of the most prominent members of the next generation, progressive powerhouse Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, given only 60 seconds to make her case for the movement built by Bernie Sanders.”

A soundbite ran of the freshman left-wing lawmaker using that time to deliver a rant that Karl Marx would have been proud of: “A movement that realizes the unsustainable brutality of an economy that rewards explosive inequalities of wealth for the few at the expense of long-term stability for the many.”

Meanwhile, during a softball interview with Obama White House shill Valerie Jarrett in the 8:00 a.m. ET hour, CBS This Morning co-host Anthony Mason similarly fretted that Ocasio-Cortez was not given her due:

There was grumbling among progressives that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was just given a minute and thirty-six seconds to place Bernie Sanders’ name into nomination. It was – it was a formal role that she was actually asked to do, but there was a lot of grumbling about it. What will did you make of that?

After Jarrett pointed out that “all of the folks who did the nominations did it the exact same length of time,” Mason pressed: “I mean, as I said, the party’s trying to draw up from a broad base of support, including progressives. Do you think it would have benefitted from giving her more time or a more prominent role?”

Later in that same interview, co-host Gayle King admitted that she “can’t stop thinking about” how wonderful Michelle Obama’s Trump-trashing convention speech was Monday night.

How many freshman members of Congress even get a speaking role at their party’s national convention? Perhaps Ocasio-Cortez and her media fans should just be happy her unhinged radicalism was included at all.

As the ringleader of the socialist “squad” of far-left Congresswomen on Capitol Hill, Ocasio-Cortez has pushed for the extreme Green New Deal that would destroy the American economy, called for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and compared immigration detention centers to Nazi “concentration camps.”

It would have been nice if the hack reporters at ABC and CBS bothered to mention any of that while they were lobbying for Ocasio-Cortez to get more air time.

The whining on behalf of the socialist was brought to ABC viewers by UPS and to CBS viewers by Colgate. You can fight back by letting these advertisers know what you think of them sponsoring such content.
