EDITOR’S NOTE, February 16, 2024: On February 15, Justice Department Counsel David Weiss indicted FBI informant Alexander Smirnov on two felony counts of making a false statement and creating a false and fictitious record for claims made to the bureau. The charges are in relation to June 2020 FD-1023 form alleging President Joe Biden and son Hunter Biden received a combined $10 million in a bribery scheme involving the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma.

Continuing their egregious behavior of ignoring the newly released records by House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer (R-KY), detailing payments that the Biden family received from corrupt business associates in foreign countries like Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan, ABC's World News Tonight decided to instead hype a non-story about United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas allegedly accepting gifts from donors. This is just one more glaring example of the liberal news networks deliberately ignoring scandals involving Democrats while going all in on every little perceived instance of a conservative controversy.
Filling in for anchor David Muir, weekend anchor Linsey Davis crowed over a report from the left-wing activist site ProPublica: "A new report finds that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas accepted more vacations and gifts from wealthy benefactors that he failed to disclose."
"ProPublica now tallying at least 38 vacations, 26 private jet flights, a dozen VIP passes to sporting events, and two stays at luxury resorts," Davis continued kvetching.
Yet, by ProPublica's own admission, they have "not identified any legal cases the benefactors had before the Supreme Court, but that Thomas may have violated the law and judicial norms by not disclosing the gifts." Davis didn't explain what those laws or judicial norms are that Thomas supposedly broke.
That's even more egregious as, in the very next breath, Davis admitted that Thomas had been "advised he didn't need to disclose hospitality from close personal friends, but the court has since adopted new rules and he intends to follow that guidance."
Davis decided to waste 37 seconds on a controversy that she admitted doesn't exist. Meanwhile, her network continues to refuse to update viewers on the Biden bribery scandal and the millions of dollars of payments the Bidens received from corrupt foreign governments.
This appalling bias from ABC's World News Tonight was made possible by Fisher Investments. Their information is linked.
