In The Shredder: ABC Moves on From Biden Docs, Cries About GOP Committee Appointments

January 18th, 2023 8:59 PM

It was only bound to happen. After days of coverage of the Biden classified documents scandal in which President Joe Biden presumably jeopardized U.S. national security by leaving them in his unsecured garage for years, ABC's World News Tonight joined both CBS Mornings & CBS Evening News in moving on Wednesday by providing zero coverage of the latest developments.

Instead, ABC decided to spend a segment huffing over Republican members of Congress they don't like such as Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene or Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar getting appointed to congressional committees, while CBS's Norah O'Donnell drooled over the "historic" newly sworn-in radical leftist Governor of Maryland Wes Moore.

As terrible as they are, at least NBC Nightly News continued to provide their viewers with the latest Biden documents scandal updates. White House correspondent Peter Alexander gave the audience details on the news on why the Biden "Justice Department decided against having FBI agents monitor the search for classified documents by President Biden's lawyers at his Delaware home."

According to Alexander and reported by the Wall Street Journal, this was a "decision the DOJ reached after first discussing it with the Biden legal team."

"The report that cites sources familiar with the matter says the call was made not to have FBI agents present, both to avoid complicating the investigation and because the President's lawyers were cooperating," Alexander added.

He then once again drew attention to the fact that the Biden regime continues to stonewall and provide zero transparency by refusing to answer questions from reporters: "President Biden had no public events today. As the pressure for more answers from this White House keeps growing."

ABC & CBS cannot be allowed to simply squirm away from covering the scandal that has engulfed the Biden regime and may very well of put our national security at risk.

It goes without saying that the two networks would still be covering this if it happened to the Trump administration. Indeed, during the controversy surrounding the FBI's totalitarian raid on Mar-a-Lago, the networks continued their hyperbolic coverage and speculation over what was in the documents.

The fact that they moved on so quickly shows their desire to continue protecting Biden once it allows them to do so without looking bad.

This bias by omission from ABC & CBS was made possible by Progressive on ABC, and United Healthcare on CBS. Their information is linked.

LESTER HOLT: Now to the special counsel investigation into whether President Biden mishandled classified material found at his former office and inside the garage at his Delaware home. Peter Alexander joins us. Peter, there is a new headline about why the FBI was not involved in the search for documents.

PETER ALEXANDER: Yeah, Lester. The Justice Department decided against having FBI agents monitor the search for classified documents by President Biden's lawyers at his Delaware home. A decision the DOJ reached after first discussing it with the Biden legal team. That's according to the Wall Street Journal. The report that cites sources familiar with the matter says the call was made not to have FBI agents present, both to avoid complicating the investigation and because the President's lawyers were cooperating.

NBC News has not independently confirmed the report. The DOJ is not commenting. But Republicans are slamming the Justice Department's decision, saying they just took the President's lawyer's word for what they found. For his part, President Biden had no public events today. As the pressure for more answers from this White House keeps growing. Lester?

HOLT: Alright Peter, thank you.
