Nets Ignore Explosive Report Showing Clinton Spied on Trump

February 14th, 2022 8:47 PM

On Monday evening, the big three broadcast networks continued their silence on the explosive report from Special Counsel John Durham’s court filing showing that Hillary Clinton’s campaign allegedly spied on then-President Donald Trump both at Trump Tower in New York and the White House.

While all three evening newscasts (ABC's World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and NBC Nightly News), apparently had no interest in covering the Durham court filings, they did have time to cover a private plane crash in North Carolina, and local crime stories like the murder of a thirty-five-year-old movie producer in New York City. All three also celebrated Canada cracking down on the peaceful Freedom Convoy protesters.

However, Fox News’ Special Report anchor Bret Baier did manage to cover this story. He lead teased Durham news at the top of the 6 pm hour, and then six minutes later covered it in depth.

“As mentioned at the top of the show there are significant developments tonight in the investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. Special Counsel John Durham has tied 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to an effort to infiltrate Trump Tower computer servers to set up a quote false narrative” Baier said before turning to correspondent David Spunt to give viewers more details about the ongoing investigation:

A source close to Special Counsel John Durham's probe tells Fox News things have quote accelerated and more people are cooperating with the probe into the origins of the Russia investigation.

Continuing to reveal to viewers the gravity of the allegations in this latest court filing from Durham, Spunt reported:

Special Counsel John Durham looking into the origins of the Russia probe for almost three years argues in a new filing that former Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussman was in contact with a technology executive who tasked researchers to mine internet data to establish an inference and narrative tying then-candidate Trump to Russia. Sussman is fighting charges of lying to the FBI.

Spunt reminded viewers that, “In 2016, Clinton herself peddled the Trump-Russia theory in this tweet. Computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank, then Clinton aide now current White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said in a statement that same day this line of communication may help explain Trump's bizarre adoration of Vladimir Putin.”

Sullivan who is now the White House National Security Advisor for President Biden was on CBS’s Face the Nation, and CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, yet neither host bothered to ask Sullivan about the Durham court documents. In fact, none of the Sunday shows bothered to report on the Durham news.

We shouldn’t be surprised that the networks continued to hide this important news from their viewers today.

This latest example of bias by omission by the three networks was made possible by the endorsements of Pacific Life on ABC, Nature’s Bounty on CBS, and Salonpas on NBC. Their information is linked so you can let them know about the biased news they fund.

BRET BAIER: As mentioned at the top of the show there are significant developments tonight in the investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. Special Counsel John Durham has tied 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to an effort to infiltrate Trump Tower computer servers to set up a quote false narrative. Correspondent David Spunt has details tonight from the Justice Department.

DAVID SPUNT: A source close to Special Counsel John Durham's probe tells Fox News things have quote accelerated and more people are cooperating with the probe into the origins of the Russia investigation.

DONALD TRUMP (FROM OCTOBER 9 2016): I know nothing about Russia.

SPUNT: Before he even moved into the White House Donald Trump denied reports he was in cahoots with Russia. Now Special Counsel John Durham looking into the origins of the Russia probe for almost three years argues in a new filing that former Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussman was in contact with a technology executive who tasked researchers to mine internet data to establish an inference and narrative tying then-candidate Trump to Russia. Sussman is fighting charges of lying to the FBI, this latest revelation prompted the former President to call the allegations a far bigger crime than Watergate.

JAMES TRUSTY (FORMER FEDERAL PROSECUTOR): I don't think you can fairly say that this is evidence of spying in the way that the word is traditionally used. You know, we’re not talking about intercepting communications. And it doesn't mean that John Durham is not on a serious path towards accountability, possibly at the very highest reaches of the Clinton campaign.

SPUNT: In 2016 Clinton herself peddled the Trump-Russia theory in this tweet. Computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank, then Clinton aide now current White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said in a statement that same day this line of communication may help explain Trump's bizarre adoration of Vladimir Putin. Trump's former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.

JOHN RATCLIFFE: I would expect and anticipate based on the intelligence that I’ve seen that there will be quite a few more indictments.

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE (WHITE HOUSE DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY): That's something I can't speak to from this podium. So I refer you to the Department of Justice.

SPUNT: No comment from the Department of Justice or Sussman's attorney, Bret. But we can tell you that Republicans on Capitol Hill are salivating. They say that if they take the House in November, they will hold public hearings on the Durham probe. Bret?
