Traffic accident coverage is a staple of the Elitist Media Evening News, faithfully serving as filler against stories they’d rather not air. Just like the empty carbs taking steak’s place on your plate. And when it comes to the traffic accident filler, the networks have demonstrated a tendency to name only one vehicle brand.
Watch as ABC World News Tonight prolongs the Elon Hate, making sure to utter “Tesla” as many times as possible in a recent car crash story:

DAVID MUIR: Tonight, a frightening scene in Orange County, California. An out-of-control Tesla crashing through a wall and right into multiple homes. Here's Trevor Ault.
TREVOR AULT: Tonight, a trail of destruction in a Southern California neighborhood after police say an out-of-control Tesla crashed through a brick retaining wall and into homes.
BYSTANDER: He had to be going at least- in a Tesla, you know, they're quick. Must have been going 100 miles an hour.
AULT: Investigators say the 22-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency and lost control, the car careening some 20 feet down that embankment, slamming into multiple homes and crashing through this garage door. This is what it looked like from the inside, debris shattering windows. And on one home there were tire marks spotted ten feet up. It happened just after midnight in Orange County, California, near Los Angeles. Authorities say first responders had to pull the driver from the car, but he was not seriously hurt from the crash. And while many people were in the homes at the time, none of them were injured.
David, it's not clear what that medical emergency was, but investigators say they don't believe the driver was impaired, and this was not the result of Tesla's autopilot mode. The investigation is ongoing. David.

For those keeping score at home, that’s three times within the first 20 seconds. There was another Tesla mention at the end when reporting that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) was ruled out as a cause of the crash, which was the result of the driver undergoing a medical emergency.
The networks are generally still pretty awful as it pertains to Elon Musk and Tesla, presumably a residual effect of their collective DOGE derangement. We noted pretty early on an ABC attempt to incite violence against Musk, and observed the tepidity of the networks when covering the terrorist attacks against Tesla facilities.
Recall the recent uproar over the crash into a Texas home: the media were quick to point a finger at Tesla’s FSD, until Tesla released a statement affirming that the driver manually overrode FSD. At that point, the media turned silent.
Elon Musk is long gone from the Trump administration, having concluded his work with DOGE. But the media have never forgiven Elon for supporting President Donald Trump in 2024. Thus the Elon derangement continues, resulting in coverage best described as vindictive and singling out Tesla for scrutiny.
