An Aroused CBS News Pushes DNC Sycophancy Into Overdrive

August 22nd, 2024 12:50 AM

The Regime Media are having a grand old time at the Democratic National Convention, as they chronicle the coronation of their new figurehead with a verve and zeal more in place in Pyongyang than in Peoria. And the old Tiffany Network is no exception.

Here are CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell and CBS Mornings host Gayle King, absolutely fawning over Oprah Winfrey’s convention speech:

OPRAH WINFREY: We are all Americans. And together, let's all choose, Kamala Harris! Thank you, Chicago. Thank you.

NORAH O’DONNELL: There is only one, as you say, Gail. There is only one.

GAYLE KING: Would you say that that was uniquely Oprah?

O’DONNELL: It was. Absolutely. And arousing in terms of challenging people to choose freedom, as she has said. To choose common sense over nonsense.

KING: Over nonsense. That might be one of my favorite lines. And I also like the childless cat ladies. Because she also said we might- no, we would go back and get the cat, too. I get the point that she was making. I mean, she has been very troubled by how polarized and how divided we are. And I think what she really wanted to do, was to ask people to really think. Really think at what’s at stake here. Integrity, your values, your character, all of that really matters.

Here’s King again with what is for all intents and purposes a full-throated endorsement of Kamala Harris:

NORAH O’DONNELL: Well, this is a history-making convention.

GAYLE KING: Exactly right. Exactly right.

O’DONNELL: Yeah. Not only could it lead to the first woman president, but the first black woman president. The first woman of south Asian heritage as well.

KING: Yeah, we are all very mindful of that. But you know, when I hear people say, you know, “I’m gonna vote for Kamala Harris because she is a black woman”, she is so much more than that. She is so uniquely qualified to be president of this country. And I don’t think anybody should vote for anybody because of their race, the color of their skin, or their gender. You will for people that have the values you- that are in line with yours.

O’DONNELL: And their qualifications.

KING: And their qualifications.

King’s CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil gushed over Michelle Obama’s speech 24 hours later:

TONY DOKOUPIL:  We are just really beginning to process Michelle Obama's address last night and what it will mean for the history books. What are your takeaways as we are now 24 hours past?

DNC DELEGATE: Well, quite frankly, Michelle Obama put a little bit of boost in our step. Last night's speech was focused on getting the electorate ready and the facts- not only about the previous president, but about the importance of diversity in this country.

Dokoupil also sucked up to UAW President Shawn Fain, and tried to elicit another faux Hulk Hogan moment:

DOKOUPIL: Well, Shawn, a lot of our viewers not only would like to thank unions overall for their work over the years bringing us the weekend, the eight-hour workday and sick paid leave. They are also curious- are you going to take your jacket off again as you did? You had quite a performance on stage a couple nights ago.

SHAWN FAIN: Maybe not. We'll see how hot it gets in here. It's been pretty hot here all week, though. These members- these delegates are all fired up and ready to go. They're ready to stand up for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz and we'll see.

Here’s Senior White House Correspondent Weijia Jiang, gushing over Tim Walz’s joyful and jolly way of attacking Republicans:

WEIJIA JIANG: And so, I think tonight will be an extension of what we saw last night, Norah. And it really is what the campaign has said they have loved about Walz from the very beginning. That he can be an attack dog and do it with a smile on his face. Last night of course, at the Fiserv Forum, that is exactly where former President Donald Trump accepted the Republican nominee(sic). When Walz took the stage, he said “we have a heck of a lot more energy than they did at their convention. And there’s one guy who’s going tol be sad, sad, sad about it.” So he has a way of attacking. But, doing it so, you know, coming across as joyful and jolly. And so we expect a lot of that tonight, Norah.

To think that we have another night remaining of this sycophancy that calls itself “journalism”.
