MSNBC’s primetime darling Rachel Maddow has an obsession with attacking conservatives, especially if they are associated with the presidency of George W. Bush. Whether it’s using her nightly program or her appearances across the NBC platform, Maddow seems to never miss an opportunity to attack former Bush officials.
Appearing as a guest on the company's Late Night w/ Seth Meyers on Tuesday March 12 for some much needed free publicity, Maddow, who recently had a cameo appearance on the popular Netflix show “House of Cards”, chose to obnoxiously compare the fictional character of Frank Underwood to former Vice President Dick Cheney. Speaking to Meyers, Maddow joked how “In real life I don't feel I discomfit villains ever. I've spent my entire life trying to annoy Dick Cheney enough into talking to me.” [See video below.]
Maddow continued to attack Cheney and noted how the former vice president has “Never noticed my existence. But there's Frank Underwood, TV villain. And he was so annoyed he turned me off mid-sentence. It’s like -- thump-thump, thump-thump. I finally upset somebody worth upsetting. Thank you, Jesus!”
It should come as no surprise that the liberal Maddow would compare Dick Cheney to the “villain” Frank Underwood, but Meyers didn’t think her insulting comment to be worthy of any pushback and instead chose to laugh with Maddow at the insulting “joke.”
After congradulating Maddow, Meyers cheered on his NBC colleague and encouraged her to "keep trying to upset regular people, too...not just fictional ones. You do a great job." Earlier in the segment, Meyers praised Maddow's role as host of MSNBC's 2012 election coverage, beaming at the "very good job" she did running MSNBC's liberal election results programming.

SETH MEYERS: Real quick, I think like a lot of people I watched "House of Cards" over the course of one afternoon.
RACHEL MADDOW: Right.
MEYERS: You made a cameo as yourself in "House of Cards."
MADDOW: Yeah.
MEYERS: Is it weird to, like be -- like to get cast as yourself?
MADDOW: Well, yeah. It's like, how do I act like myself? Do I seem like myself? Oh, no, that's not me.
MEYERS: Yeah.
MADDOW: Like I don't know how to act.
MEYERS: Right.
MADDOW: It was really cool to be asked. I'm so into -- I'm so into "House of Cards," like I watched the British one, too.
MEYERS: Yes.
MADDOW: I'm obsessive about that.
MEYERS: Yeah, I've watched the British one, too. We have so much in common. Please just rethink it. Please rethink it.
MADDOW: No.
MEYERS: Okay. Same haircut!
MADDOW: No! I'll send your wife a note.
MEYERS: Okay, great. You were great in it. And I really liked though, you've got the best thing, which is you made Frank Underwood, like, roll his eyes and turn off the TV.
MADDOW: That's the thing!
MEYERS: That's the kill shot.
