‘Bona Fide News’: Whoopi Goldberg Begs Viewers to Vote Against Trump

The liberal ladies of ABC’s The View have never been very subtle about their dislike of President Trump, though one might have hoped that their interview with Vice President JD Vance may have changed their minds somewhat. Instead, on Wednesday’s show, moderator Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of The View cast were devising a plan to get Trump’s “regime” out of power.

Spurred on by the reported memo of understanding with the Iranian regime to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, Goldberg proclaimed: “The only way to stop this is to change the regime.”

But before you think she meant the Iranian regime, Goldberg clarified she meant Trump’s:

SUNNY HOSTIN: Oh, change this administration.

BEHAR: She means this regime.

GOLDBERG: Yes, this regime!

BEHAR: She's calling it a regime.

GOLDBERG: Well, because that's what it is to me!

Shaking in her boots over the mere thought of Trump rigging the November elections, Joy Behar compared him to former Hungarian President Viktor Orban:

BEHAR: Yeah, that's- that’s assuming that they haven't rigged the election in November!

(...)

BEHAR: You know, the people of Hungary were able to get rid of Orban.

GOLDBERG: Yes.

HOSTIN: Yes.

BEHAR: Even though he rigged everything in that country.

GOLDBERG: Yes.

BEHAR: And the reason they could do it is because they came out in huge numbers. And that is what Whoopi is trying to say.

Behar comparing Trump to Orban was very ironic. Trump himself ran on a “too big to rig” campaign during his 2024 campaign, and just like the Hungarian opposition against Orban, Trump was carried to victory against an allegedly rigged system via mass voter turnout.

Additionally, The View ladies were then sidetracked by a semantic discussion regarding Gerrymandering and jerry-rigging, with Whoopi claiming, “both are offensive to people I will tell you. They are- they come from slander.” Perhaps she confused these with the term “gypping”, a synonym for cheating or stealing that originates from the “gypsy” label for Roma peoples.

Eventually, the ladies of The View would circle back to their original point: how to stop Trump’s “regime”:

GOLDBERG: Yeah. But my point is that the reason they tell you this is to make you say, “well, it doesn't matter what I do.” It does matter.

BEHAR: Right.

GOLDBERG: You showing up, you coming out. And this is not just at Democrats. There are Republicans out there who don't like what they see. We need y'all to come out, too.

BEHAR: That's right.

GOLDBERG: Because we have to make this change or this is what we're living with the next, you know, little while.

For a so-called “bona fide news program,” The View sure have their favorites. Pleading “not just at Democrats,” Whoopi insisted that their viewers, regardless of political affiliation, should join their coalition against the Trump “regime.” Otherwise, America might suffer the fate of having a Republican government for an unbearable “little while.” What a terrifying prospect!

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: The only way to stop this is to change the regime.

JOY BEHAR: Right.

GOLDBERG: That's the only-

BEHAR: That's not happening.

GOLDBERG: Well, but I believe it's going to happen because Americans, you know, we know we have to pay for stuff we don't like, people pay for stuff that they don't like.

SUNNY HOSTIN: Oh, change this administration.

BEHAR: She means this regime.

GOLDBERG: Yes, this regime!

BEHAR: She's calling it a regime.

GOLDBERG: Well, because that's what it is to me! That's what it is, you know. And the only way that that changes is if people decide that they have had enough and they go in and start voting.

BEHAR: Yeah, that's- that’s assuming that they haven't rigged the election in November!

GOLDBERG: Well, do you know what, I'm going to keep saying this because just because they said this is jerry-rigged-

HOSTIN: Gerrymandered, yeah.

GOLDBERG: -Gerrymandered, doesn't mean you can't vote. It doesn't mean that you can't go into whatever town or area you're in. It doesn't mean that you lose your vote. You know? Yes, darling?

BEHAR: One thing I want to say.

GOLDBERG: Yes.

GOLDBERG: That's my point. That's my point.

BEHAR: And that's important.

GOLDBERG: Yes, because they say these things, they say, well, you know, its- what is it, gerrymandered?

HOSTIN: Gerrymandering.

GOLDBERG: Gerrymandered.

BEHAR: I like jerry-rigging better.

GOLDBERG: But both are offensive to people I will tell you. They are- they come from slander.

BEHAR: Oh, really?

GOLDBERG: Yeah. But my point is that the reason they tell you this is to make you say, “well, it doesn't matter what I do.” It does matter.

BEHAR: Right.

GOLDBERG: You showing up, you coming out. And this is not just at Democrats. There are Republicans out there who don't like what they see. We need y'all to come out, too.

BEHAR: That's right.

GOLDBERG: Because we have to make this change or this is what we're living with the next, you know, little while.

We’ll be right back.
