CNN Disgustingly Ties Herschel Walker to the Colorado Gay Nightclub Shooting

November 22nd, 2022 8:56 AM

On Monday afternoon’s CNN Newsroom, things briefly took a bizarre and sinister turn when the leftist regime tied Georgia Republican senatorial candidate Herschel Walker to the deadly mass shooting at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub. The reason? Well, he released an ad on Monday with former NCAA All-American Riley Gaines denouncing transgender athletes competing in women’s sports.

Co-host Victor Blackwell noted the shooting and immediately pivoted to Walker: “[A]s you know, there was that mass shooting Saturday night in Colorado Springs at an LGBTQ nightclub. Five people killed. Herschel Walker in Georgia has released a new ad today. Let's play a portion of it.”

In the ad, Gaines and Walker introduced themselves with Gaines sharing how, “[f]or more than a decade, I worked so hard. 4:00 a.m. practices to be the best, but my senior year, I was forced to compete against a biological male.”

The ad continued:

WALKER: That's unfair and wrong.

GAINES: A man won the swimming title that belonged to a woman and senator Warnock voted to let it happen.

WALKER: Warnock's afraid to stand up for female athletes.

GAINES: Herschel Walker stands up for what's right.

Blackwell then snarked to conservative commentator Scott Jennings: “Why is that the message for this moment?”

CNN’s best actual conservative, Jennings didn’t take the bait and instead noted this has been “a huge issue for the Republican base” and supporting women and girls in sports will hopefully turn out “a number of Republicans who voted for Kemp in the general election who didn't vote for Herschel Walker, so this is a base engagement strategy”.

Fill-in co-host Bianna Golodryga (whose husband worked for Barack Obama) took Blackwell’s side, claiming they’re “just question[ing] the time of it all” and suggested he could have waited “a few more weeks...after a mass shooting.”

Golodryga then tied opposition to exposing young children to graphic sexual content to the alleged Colorado Springs gunman, acknowledging how far-left panelist Ron Brownstein would agree (even though they had to go to break) that Republicans aren’t “reading the temperature of the country”:

Listen. Republicans and you, Ron, would agree in your assessment, Republicans got hurt by some of their leaders' response to the attack against Nancy Pelosi’s husband, not really reading the temperature in the country and now, to release this ad has a lot of people raising — raising questions.

Exit question: How many CNN anchors and likeminded folks at MSNBC want their young children to be taught sex ed and encourage them to explore changing their gender?

CNN’s disgusting insinuation was made possible thanks to the support of advertisers such as Liberty Mutual and Subway. Follow the links to see their contact information at the MRC’s Conservatives Fight Back page.

[ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: GA Senate Runoff; GOP’s Walker Releases New Ad Targeting Transgender Athletes]

VICTOR BLACKWELL: Scott, as you know, there was that mass shooting Saturday night in Colorado Springs at an LGBTQ nightclub. Five people killed. Herschel Walker in Georgia has released a new ad today. Let's play a portion of it.

RILEY GAINES: I'm Riley Gaines, a 12-time NCAA All-American.

HERSCHEL WALKER: And I'm Herschel Walker.

GAINES: For more than a decade, I worked so hard. 4:00 a.m. practices to be the best, but my senior year, I was forced to compete against a biological male.

WALKER: That's unfair and wrong.

GAINES: A man won the swimming title that belonged to a woman and senator Warnock voted to let it happen.

WALKER: Warnock's afraid to stand up for female athletes.

GAINES: Herschel Walker stands up for what's right.

BLACKWELL: Why is that the message for this moment?

SCOTT JENNINGS: Well, it's a huge issue for the Republican base. I assume what the Walker campaign is thinking is they need to keep Republicans engaged in this election. Obviously, they've got to get them to come out to the polls one more time, and there were a number of Republicans who voted for Kemp in the general election who didn't vote for Herschel Walker, so this is a base engagement strategy, and just having been around Republican politics for a few years, I can tell you. This issue right here does engage Republicans. So, I — I see why they're doing it. I understand the strategy behind it, but to me, it is — it is all about keeping Republicans on the hook to come out one more time in an election where Walker is actually fighting from behind. He got fewer votes, so he’s got to get a few more Republicans to the polls on the runoff.

BIANNA GOLODRYGA: Just question the timing of it all though. He’s got a few more weeks and to do it after a mass shooting — just a few days. Listen. Republicans and you, Ron, would agree in your assessment, Republicans got hurt by some of their leaders' response to the attack against Nancy Pelosi’s husband, not really reading the temperature in the country and now, to release this ad has a lot of people raising — raising questions.
