ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel returned to two of his favorite hobbies on Wednesday. First, he accused President Trump, and presumably all Republicans, of killing people with their health care policies. Later in his monologue, Kimmel also mocked the idea that someone could find it concerning that a school would transition a child without their parents’ consent or knowledge.
Kimmel set up his health care demagoguery by reporting that Trump is having second thoughts about the wisdom of livestreaming Nidal Hasan's execution, “You remember how a few days ago how enthusiastic Trump was about the idea to livestream the execution of the Fort Hood shooter? Well, now Crocodile Dumb-ee is having second thoughts because he didn't realize the shooter is in a wheelchair, and he's worried that might look bad to shoot a guy—he only kills guys in wheelchairs by cutting their health insurance, okay? It's a hard rule.”

Like many on the left, Kimmel loves to dumb down health care policy discussions to “Agree with me or people die.”
However, Kimmel’s dismissive attitude towards serious matters was only just beginning. Despite living in a state that has been subject to litigation over its anti-mandatory disclosure laws, Kimmel introduced a clip of Trump at a recent Arizona rally by mocking the concern that a school might transition a child without the parents knowing, “He bragged about how popular he is on TikTok, how great the economy is going, and issued a stark washing about the dangers of sending your child to school a boy and having that boy come home a girl.”
Kimmel, despite living in a state with these types of laws, mocks the idea that a school might call a kid by a different name without the parents' consent, "That's right. That’s true. In the clip, Trump declared, “Your son leaves as Jimmy and comes back home in three days as Janet, and they don't even ask you. Most people don't believe you. You know, they think it's an exaggeration. It's not.”
California is hardly the only state with such laws, but Kimmel continued mocking the idea, “That's right. That’s true. The same thing happened to me in reverse. For the first 11 or, maybe, 12 years of my life, I was Janet, and then I came back Jimmy.”
It’s funny until you realize that it’s true, and then it’s not so funny.
