CNN Hypes 'Experts' Ludicrously Accusing Israel of Genocide

November 16th, 2023 12:41 PM

Exactly one day after being rebuked by Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz for repeating Hamas propaganda, Nada Bashir returned to CNN News Central on Thursday to hype the ludicrous idea that certain “experts” are entertaining that Israel is committing genocide because for CNN, being truthful and not neutral has its limits.

Bashir was on to discuss a U.N. Security Council Resolution that calls for “humanitarian pauses” that the U.S. abstained from:

Well, look, this has been described as a somewhat of a diplomatic breakthrough after weeks of bitter negotiations. But as we have heard from Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, describing this resolution passed by 12 countries as meaningless and disconnected from reality, maintaining that Israel has been acting within the realms of international humanitarian law despite warnings from international agencies, including warnings today from the U.N.'s own human rights experts have warned that the violations being committed by Israeli against Palestinians, particularly in the Gaza Strip, are pointing towards, in their words, a genocide in the making.

Obviously, just because the “U.N.’s own human rights experts” say something doesn’t make it true. The head of UNRWA tweeted it was “False & insidious claims” that the organization’s schools teach Palestinians to hate Israel, which was properly community noted with several links debunking such claims.

In other U.N. lowlights, the U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator recently tweeted a photo of himself chumming it up with the Iranian Foreign Minister on the need to alleviate suffering in Gaza. He might as well have invited the Russian Foreign Minister to talk about the sanctity of international borders.

As for Bashir, she continued:

Now, of course, Israel has denied targeting civilians. We know, of course, that they have rejected this resolution, calling for a humanitarian pause despite pushes from international allies, including, of course, messages from U.S. officials. Now, of course, the United States abstained from this resolution. We heard from Human Rights Watch’s U.N. director yesterday describing this decision by the United States to abstain from the voting on this resolution as a wake-up call to Israel that even its allies are now expressing concern of the situation that we are seeing unfolding inside the Gaza Strip.

If Israel wanted to commit genocide in Gaza, the Al-Shifa Hospital would currently be a giant hole in the ground, but Bashir nevertheless added, “And as we know, of course, as Israel's bombardment continues across the northern parts of the Gaza Strip, as well as, of course, focused around the hospitals, particularly Gaza's largest hospital, Al-Shifa, there is mounting concern for the safety and security of civilians as well as those inside hospitals, patients and medical staff.”

The idea that Israel is committing genocide is like calling an apple a banana, CNN just lacks the courage to be truthful and not neutral and to say so.

NADA BASHIR: Well, look, this has been described as a somewhat of a diplomatic breakthrough after weeks of bitter negotiations.

And as we know, of course, as Israel's bombardment continues across the northern parts of the Gaza Strip, as well as, of course, focused around the hospitals, particularly Gaza's largest hospital, Al-Shifa, there is mounting concern for the safety and security of civilians as well as those inside hospitals, patients and medical staff.
