‘I’m Voting for Biden’: Telemundo Runs In-Kind Advertising as Voter Education Programming

October 14th, 2020 3:34 PM

On August 31, 2020, Telemundo launched a series called “Mi primera vez” (My First Time), consisting of special reports about Latinos voting for the first time in a U.S. presidential election. A close look into the "voter education" effort unsurprisingly shows that in all but one of six episodes, the subjects interviewed stated that they were voting for Joe Biden and/or expressed opposition to the current administration.

The following video compilation begins with the series’ initial report, featuring a pro-Trump, Venezuelan family that escaped the horrors and political persecution of their country's socialist regime, and ends with the latest interview featuring a pro-Biden Salvadoran transsexual. The rest of the Mi primera vez reports have centered on new Latino voters vying for the Biden-Harris ticket.

Take a look at what is clearly overt, in-like pro Democrat advertising passing as news at Telemundo's Un Nuevo Día, and Noticias Telemundo Mediodía, as aired from August 31, 2020, through October 10, 2020:

MIRIAM ARIAS: In November they will vote for their first time, with two of their four children

TRUMP: Thank you Mr. President

ISABEL PERERA: I am not ashamed to say that I am going to vote for Trump, the only President who has really helped our country, so that we can come out achieve a little more to able to remove the narco government that we have in Venezuela.

[...]

LEONARDO FELDMAN: Nine years ago she became a US citizen, and this year is the first time that she will vote with great responsibility simply because it is the first time that she will exercise her right to vote as the mother of little Mia. Magali says she will vote for Biden.

...

For Magali, Donald Trump's victory and his job as President have been disappointing.

[…]

JUAN PALANDRES: Whoever we hold in any public office has to be someone who can include everyone at the table

[...]

CHIS COLINDRES: Being a Democrat and voting for Joe Biden, he is the only candidate that I have faith that can help undocumented people.

[...]

LEONARDO FELDMAN: Now years after requesting asylum in the United States, she is a US citizen and will vote for the first time in the general elections and will vote for the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden.

The bias at the nation's Hispanic media is so evident, it begs to let advertisers like Capital One know of your opposition, particularly as regards the right to vote. Write them a note here.
