Following President Trump’s latest meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, anchor Adriana Yañez of Estrella TV opened her network’s national evening news by telling viewers that it is President Trump who is “the worst ruler in history.”
Los Angeles-based Estrella TV, tacking ever further to the left of its much larger Spanish-language rivals Univision and Telemundo, thus managed to make itself a laughingstock, while hitting a new low in the annals of journalism.
ADRIANA YAÑEZ, NEWS ANCHOR, ESTRELLA TV: Greetings, this is Adriana Yañez with the most relevant news of the day. And the U.S. President continues making grave errors in his foreign policy, which have made him the worst ruler in history. We hand it off to Dayanis López who has all the details.
Yañez’s characteristic histrionics and over-the-top editorializing was complemented by a graphic during the story, next to a picture of President Trump, that read “Out of Control.” As MRC Latino has documented repeatedly, the news peddled by Estrella TV is truly in a league of its own, and an embarrassment.
