The United States Department of Justice just released statistics for 2015 showing fewer deportations. The report also indicates that half of those caught in illegal border crossings never make it to court. Both Univision and Telemundo swept the story under the rug.
The statistics are testimony to the highly disturbing surrender by the Obama administration to the forces of illegal immigration. The report, released earlier this week, raises several big time red flags, as reported by KRVG in the border town of McAllen, Texas.
A little more than 187,000 people were brought to the court for removal proceedings. It’s the majority of the 199,534 cases received in 2015. But Homeland Security officials said they caught more than twice that number in 2014 and 2015.
“As long as they claim to be here before 2014, we just let them go,” said Brandon Judd from the National Border Patrol Council. “They don't have to prove it. They just have to tell us.”
In February, Border Patrol officials admitted to letting people go without processing them, if they claimed to arrive in the country before 2014. No court date is set.
KRVG further reported that voluntary departures have now reached a five year low. That means that more undocumented immigrants are choosing to stay in the United States. This challenges the narrative typically peddled by the networks that immigration is down, voluntary departures are up and deportations are high.
The report was ignored by both the #1 and #2 Spanish-language networks in the country. In its place, both chose to cover Hillary Clinton's latest idea to create a new government agency to help immigrants and refugees.
