ROUNDUP: Hateful Hollywood Fills Buckets of Tears After Trump Is Acquitted

Hollywood elites are paid dramatizers. It’s no wonder they spewed hatred when Trump was acquitted.

On Feb. 13, the Senate voted 57-43 to convict Trump of inciting insurrection and since 67 votes were required for conviction, Trump was acquitted.

Since most of Hollywood is against Trump, or anything slightly right-wing, many celebrities were quick to post statements of disapproval regarding the impeachment results. Take a look at some of the most bitter responses from Tinseltown.

Actor Rob Reiner posted a plethora of hate-filed rants regarding the impeachment results and, as he said, Trump’s “mountain of Crimes.” Reiner tweeted, “Let’s be clear. The refusal by Republicans to hold Trump accountable for committing the worst violation of the Constitution by a President in our Nation’s history is about one thing and one thing only: White Supremacy.” Saucy vocab on his part, except 7 Republicans voted Trump was guilty, so maybe Reiner should get his facts straight.

“The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah had no problem going off on Trump, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Republicans that voted in Trump’s favor at the impeachment trial. In a Feb. 15 segment, Noah said, “I get that it’s disappointing for a lot of people, but we should know this by now – this is what Trump does. He wiggles his way out of accountability,” while dubbing Trump the “acquittal G.O.A.T” (greatest of all time). Noah also compared Trump to O.J. Simpson when he said, “Sorry O.J., you had a good run but Trump got acquitted twice and he’s responsible for more deaths.” For a refresher, O.J. was acquitted in 1995 after being charged for stabbing his wife and her friend to death.

There’s a colossal difference between a literal murderer with a knife in his hand and a man whose supporters, after being asked to be peaceful, went rogue and ended up injuring people in an event that has been tied in varying degrees of reliability to deaths by heart attack, stroke, suicide, and a police shooting. One has complete responsibility for his situation the other has none.

Singer/songwriter/actress Bette Midler, who is quite vocal on Twitter regarding her hate for Trump, said that “He got away with murder.” She was presumably alluding to Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick who died after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, although the circumstances of his death have recently come under scrutiny

Broadcaster Piers Morgan is an entertaining TV personality, for sure. He tweeted his pettiness in regard to Trump’s acquittal, “BREAKING: Gutless pathetic Republican senators acquit Donald Trump in his latest impeachment trial despite knowing he’s guilty as sin 👎.” Morgan doesn't understand that there’s a supermajority needed to convict and the Senate missed it by 10. Therefore, he’s not guilty as sin, or guilty at all … as the trial ruled.

For the grand finale, speaking on the topic of guilt as well is none other than Hollywood's Rosie O’Donnell. She and Trump have had a long lasting feud and she replied to the Senate Republicans' Twitter when they said that the impeachment trial was a “waste of time.” O’Donnell tweeted reasonably, “well fuck u all - traitors - cult members - reality deniers u have no shame - u tossed ur legacy in with his - the nation will not forget ur betrayal - he tried to kill mike pence for gods sake - what will it take - damn it #TrumpIsGuilty.” Chill out with the name-calling, Rosie, or you might lose your credibility!

The doubling down on the hate has been exponential by the left. Even after Trump left office, Hollywood is still milking complaints against him. Tinseltown wanted to see Trump punished and since he was instead acquitted, they’re having meltdowns. What else is new?
