Gay Singer Waves Pride Flag While Singing National Anthem Before NBA Game

Come on, man. Is it possible for The Alphabet Mafia to give us an occasional respite from their "pride" for, like, five minutes?!

Before Thursday evening's NBA game between the visiting Miami Heat and the host Golden State Warriors, gay singer Jason Brock -- don't worry, he'll be more than happy to tell you he's gay -- waved a mini gay pride flag while singing the word "proudly" during his rendition of the National Anthem. It was "Pride Night."

Look, to be fair, Brock has a very nice voice, full of soul and warmth. But why does everything for a flamboyantly gay man, who, if you saw his audition for the singing competition show "X-Factor" back in the day, you'd see I'm not wrong in my description of him, have to wave the flag of their figurative country or convey their religion of "Pride" because they feel they lack either?

San Francisco's Fox TV station KTVU reported this wasn't a new thing:

He previously waved a Pride flag while singing for the San Francisco Giants' Pride celebration in 2024, an idea he said was his own and received no negative feedback at the time.

According to Brock, Thursday's performance at the Warriors game was planned and rehearsed ahead of time.

"The team asked me—we'd love for you to do that again, so I was like great. I'll do it," Brock said….

"I didn't mean any disrespect to the anthem. I only meant to embrace everyone," Brock said.

"Everyone" would mean you might wave the American flag, not a flag for a small percentage of Americans.

You wanna be gay? Go for it. You want to be one of the 84 letters, numbers, or symbols of The Alphabet Mafia? Have at it. But when it comes to certain traditions and things that people hold dear, maybe pick and choose your spots a little better.
