Life’s hard when you’re an international pop-star worth $150 million. Outlandish, gay activist Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her concert in Indonesia amid Muslim protests, and her manager felt it was appropriate to compare this small hiccup to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
In March, The Islamic Defenders Front protested Gaga’s provocative lifestyle, and vowed to stop Lady Gaga from performing and corrupting their youth.
“It's less about Gaga than it really is what's happening in the world right now as a whole," Gaga’s manager Troy Carter said. "This is a microcosm. It's a generational divide. Jesus Christ got crucified. It happens."
Gaga is no stranger to bigotry against faith, and her songs celebrate her bizarre and profane tastes. In December 2011 Gaga released a "Christmas" video called "Stuck on F***in You." The lyrics were heavily laden with sexual imagery with at least five uses of the f-bomb.
Her Easter offering was the despicable single "Judas," which included lyrics like “I'm just a holy fool, oh baby he's so cruel / But I'm still in love with Judas, baby. Jesus is my virtue, Judas is the demon that I cling to.”
The song “Alejandro” served as a platform to bash Catholicism. Catholic League President Bill Donahue said, “Dressed occasionally as a nun in a glossy-red habit, the Madonna wannabe flashes the cross, swallows a rosary and manages to get raped by her S&M boyfriends, hence, she has now become the new poster girl for American decadence and Catholic bashing, sans the looks and talent of her role model.”
With such a debauched history, and blatant disregard for respect and faith it’s not surprising that Gaga’s entourage would compare her minor career setbacks to the suffering and death of Christ.
