Lady Gaga's Christmas Offering: 'Stuck on F***in' You'
Lady Gaga is at it again, trying to offend to get attention. Her latest song, which she leaked on Christmas Day to listeners, “Stuck on F***in You," is another effort to glorify casual sex and profanity.
Huffington Post reported positively on Gaga’s latest effort. “Think of her as a raw, hyper-sexualized Santa Claus, slinking down the chimney to mingle with the flames of your yule log. Lady Gaga's new song, "Stuck on F*ckin' You," eschews her usual synthesizers and high production for a simple blues guitar crawl and loud claps that pair with a growly drawl for maximum aural seduction,” the site wrote (video follows with commentary, serious vulgarity warning):
The lyrics of the song are heavily laden with sexual imagery and at least five uses of the f*** bomb. The song repeats the refrain “stuck on f***in’ you” and include such sexually charged phrases as:
You'll be on stuck f***in' this hooker wh-re
This hooker, wh-re-ooh
Even the photo to go with the song shows Lady Gaga with her shirt undone and her pants unfastened as if she were taking off her clothes.
Lady Gaga is no stranger to controversy. Her songs are full of celebrations of nudity, casual sexual behavior, and mockery of traditional religious beliefs. Her music video “Telephone” was given the adult content tag by YouTube for its excessive sexual content. Other songs, such as “Love Game,” feature singing about wanting to ride a “disco stick.”
Lady Gaga is also notorious for including anti-religious themes in her work, specifically bashing the Catholic Church. Her 2010 song and music video “Alejandro” featured her dressed in a female version of the Pope’s garb. And her 2011 song “Judas” featured her singing the words “Judas is the demon I cling to.” That song was her Easter offering.
But instead of castigating Lady Gaga for her reckless promotion of sexual license and bigotry against faith, the media celebrate her as a great performer and artist. NBC’s Today went so far as to have her perform on their July 9, 2010, show.
Ironically, in a 2010 interview with MTV.com, Lady Gaga advised her listeners that celibacy was fine, and declared: “I can't believe I'm saying this — don't have sex. I'm single right now and I've chosen to be single because I don't have the time to get to know anybody.” But songs like “Stuck on F***in You,” with their emphasis on sexual license, sing a different tune, encouraging their listeners to engage in casual sex at will.

The song is so crappy, from the stripped down sound, to the horrible guitar, and the blown out vocals and hand claps, it sounds like a White Stripes hit. All gimmick, no soul.
Might be time for Gaga to take a hint from Amy Winehouse and go to rehab.

Jeez, strat, I had to shut that damn excuse for a song off about half-way through - I KNEW it wasn't going to get any better, and I doubted that it could get any worse either!!! This ugly hermaphrodite would do herself a favor (fat chance!!!) by listening to some REAL blues............but I seriously doubt that she could do a third-grade interpretation of some 'diet-lite' blues, much less anything with some grit, bite, and soul!! And - I thought these modern studios could make these crappy-ass, out-of-tune singers sound 'on pitch'............she was SHARP in the second verse, which is actually worse than being 'flat'!!!
God, this is hideous...............do people buy this crap??? How 'out of touch' am I anymore??? I'll listen to good music played by ANYONE........but this doesn't even come close to being in the far parking lot, much less the ballpark!!!

He'd eat for as a snack, and pick his gold-capped teeth with her useless bones!!! Hell, Eric Clapton was scared sh*tless when he was backing up the Wolf.........and he insisted that Hubert Sumlin - Wolf's guitarist (and a legend in his own right), be playing with them, because Sumlin WAS 'the man', and Clapton didn't want to have anything to do with 'replacing' him on the recordings.
I've been told that I do a pretty good Wolf impression...........but it does take a toll on my voice!!!

At best she is milking the industry for all it is worth. Despite the 'quality' of the music she is classically trained in music with a wide range of influences. Elton John was quoted as saying that once you got past all the fake persona she was an intelligent person who knew every thing there was to know about the music business.
No fan but I am tone deaf on a good day.
Born March 20, 1986, Stefani Germanotta attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart school in New York. As a teenager she began writing songs and playing open mic nights at clubs in Manhattan. While in high school she performed in a wide range of dramatic plays and musicals. At the age of 17, Stefani was admitted to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

Submitted by killa37 on Tue, 12/27/2011 - 3:35pm.
I wasn't coming down on Elton - the guy can play, sing, and write his ass off. I was just making a comment about the 'fake persona' aspect of it...................starting with his name, and taking it down the line from there. I also think Elton's been 'had' by the music business in the past - which is pretty standard, and has been happening from day one.
As far as the subject of this thread - I DO think that 'song' is total crap, and wouldn't even make it past a listen by an under assistant west coast A&R man - if it wasn't by Lady Goo-Goo.
As to Mandrake's comment.........I think Dylan's whole career has been a constant 're-invention' of himself - by design - but he's put out some pretty memorable stuff along the way. Bing Crosby too. Will anybody be able to say the same thing about Lady Gagger???
Elton
Submitted by Agnostic on Tue, 12/27/2011 - 4:06pm.
I know little of music past what I like and in that I am eccentric at best. But when someone like Elton John says that someone knows music and the music business I don't think I am going to believe the constant droning about her lack of talent. Is she producing crap now because it is popular and will make her money - probably but that there is a market for crap in the music industry. Along the same line, I don't blame McDonalds for making Big Mac Wraps and I think they are crap.
Insulting the song or having an opinion on what she writes is totally understandable but when it comes to decreeing her talent level I will probably stick the opinion of someone like Elton John over those who declare her talentless based on social and political beliefs.
As much as her music and opinions are repulsive to me now; if she has the base talent that has been expressed in her training (also, opinion of people in the business) as she matures she will have the freedom and the backing to put out any music she wants and not just play to the easy money - perhaps then she will put out music that is memorable. Maybe!

No el problemo, Ag.......I've heard a few lightweight catchy tunes by Lady G, and I've heard a helluva lot more long-lasting songs by Elton..................but this one we're talking about here on the thread is complete crap, from any angle. Of course, that's my opinion - but I think I'll be proven correct when it's all said and done. And if you want to check out some opinions - you should read some of John Lennon's assesments of his OWN songs, much less others!!!
But I doubt seriously that Ms. GaGa will go down in musical history as anything other than another 'star' that had her 15 minutes of fame.............I won't be holding my breath for anything 'memorable'. And if it IS - I'll admit it, because I like music that sounds good to me - regardless of who does it.
And lest we not forget - Elton John DID play at Rush LImbaugh's wedding party............now there's a strange combination!!! And apparantly everything was great!!!

I dunno about that, Ag - but it could be true.................I'd definitly not into 'rap', regardless of who did it, unless is has listenable music and listenable lyrics, which pretty much negates any possibliltiy that I might llke it!!! But I do know one other thing - there's a big rift between Elton John and my main man Keef Richards!!! Keef's not the kind of guy to ever be short on an opinion of anything or anyone..............

Keef made some snide remark about John only writing songs about 'dead blondes'..........and John then called Keef an 'arthritic monkey', or some such thing..................I think it's an ego spat!!!
They paid Keef a LOT for his appearances...........he doesn't need the work or the money, and I'm sure he didn't want to sit around a damn movie set all day either. In fact, I read that he walked off of one set, because nothing was happening - and I'm sure his contract stated that he MUST get paid - Keef is no dummy!!!
When they were filming down in Hanalei last summer, I told my friend who owns the Tahiti Nui (where we were the house band for a couple years, back in the day), where they were doing some filming, that if Keef showed up, CALL ME!!! I wanted to check him out. I'm STILL jealous of my ex-Navy SEAL son, because he partied one afternoon with Keef at the Coronado Island SEAL base - one of Keef's nephews was getting married there, and he invited Uncle Keef. Blew everyone's mind, especially the drill instructors, who didn't believe him!!! My son said he was a real trip!!!

your last line "Accountability has to be the new American norm". how does this affect those on the left whose total meme has been, blame Bush, blame Palin (Giffords being shot), blame Tebow (religious intolerance of his faith in God), fall in the aspect of the music business? In partaining to a poorly written song about drunken sex with someone who happened to be sleeping during the making of the song on a tour bus and was the only one to be awake after everyone passed out?
So when is she going to be held accountable for this song and its "message"?
tesusmc,
Submitted by Agnostic on Tue, 12/27/2011 - 4:15pm.
Did you buy her last album? If not, then she has been held accountable for her music and her 'message'. The fact that there is a large audience out there that either agrees with the message or more likely ignores the message in favor of the music (hard to believe I know) is an issue that in no way do I know how to combat. Of course, Elvis didn't drive the nation to ruin and Barry Manilow's devil music didn't destroy a generation.
As to my tag line - it isn't to be taken in context of the thread subject. However, it does point out that accountability is needed - it does not deal with the question of whether it exists in disproportionate amounts.

I'll tell ya, miss ninjie-poo, I got 'chicken skin' when I played your link - I haven't heard that in a long time. The Platters were phenomenal - 'Smoke Gets in your Eyes' is fantastic, along with many of their others. I always thought that some of those classic songs of the early era - blues, doo-wop, rock, soul - had some very serious sexual undercurrents, without being too upfront about it. Now Lady Goo-Goo??? If she's upfront with me, I'm RUNNING out the back door!!!!
And I'm thinkin' (Obamaspeak) about Jerry Lee Lewis - the original KILLA - doing 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On) - hey, the ol' KILLA was talkin' Obamaspeak before the petulant prick was born!!! - and it is absolutly lurid in it's delivery, especially when he is 'rappin' in the middle section. No wonder the parents and the TV shows were afraid of him!!! And then he goes and marries his 13 year old cousin??? Ahhhhhh......Etta!!! Part of the monumental Chess Records stable - back when they were recording Chicago blues, in the pre-rock days. They had the good, or bad, fortune of signing Chuck Berry, who made such an impact on rock'n'roll that it pushed the bluesmen and women into the background. Muddy Waters would sweep up and was even kind of an errand boy for the Rolling Stones when they came to record at the Chess studios..............and artists like da Wolf, Etta, and others just had to keep trying to find gigs to suit their own style of music.
Yeah, and it took these white boys from England to turn the 'flavor of the month' American record-buying public back onto what it was that was TRUE, ORIGINAL American music!!!

I'm not entirely familiar with Lady Gaga's music, but I like the arrangements, vocals, energy, and tunes I've heard. Even the one song I don't really like, Pokerface, still comes across like a well made song (unlike the Black Eyed Peas where everything sounds like garbage). Having said that I tend not to really listen to lyrics so I don't really know what most songs are about.
What I don't get are why people who are musically talented like this have to resort to the most ridiculous stunts to get attention. Madonna was like this too with her great voice and parade of predictable publicity stunts. I just don't get that mentality where someone must be the center of attention at every moment. I find people like that annoying.
And the extreme sexuality? I know that tired cliche gets music sold, but seriously? Has she ever looked in the mirror? She's just so physically repulsive. She seems physically fit, but she's roughly as attractive as Roseanne Arnold. I can't imagine any straight man or even a lesbian woman finding her attractive. She's just gross looking.
