The Media Research Center’s video department, MRCTV.org, was at the Democratic debate this past Tuesday in Las Vegas, Nev., asking politicians hard-hitting questions that the liberal media refuse to ask.
One of these questions came from reporter Brittany Hughes. Hughes clearly caught the DNC chair, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), off-guard when she asked the staunchly pro-abortion politician this thought-provoking question: “Were [your children] human beings before they were born?”
Wasserman Schultz was clearly peeved at the question and tried to fall-back on a diplomatic non-answer, but Hughes continued to press her. Eventually, Wasserman Schultz said, “They’re human beings today.”

MRC TV: You have three children, correct?
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: I do.
MRC TV: How old are they?
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: I have twin 16-year-olds and a 12-year-old.
MRC TV: In your opinion, were they human beings before they were born?
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: You know, I believe that every woman has the right to make their own reproductive choices.
MRC TV: But what did you believe about your children?
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: That I had the right to make my own reproductive choices, which I was glad to have and which I was proud to have.
MRC TV: So were they human beings? Just yes or no.
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: They’re human beings today, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to make my own reproductive choices, as – a right that every woman has and should maintain.
As we all know, adamant supporters of abortion like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Wasserman Schultz downplay the radical nature of their abortion views. Yet the media rarely, if ever, call them out on it. A few weeks ago, CNS reporter Sam Dorman asked Pelosi “[I]s an unborn baby with a human heart and a human liver a human being?" Pelosi refused to answer the question, while snarking at the reporter, “Listen. I want to say something to you; I don’t know who you are.”
