During the episode “I’m Here to Volunteer” of Netflix’s Chelsea, a solid reason to vote for Hillary Clinton’s opponent became apparent – Chelsea Handler contemplates moving to Canada if Donald Trump becomes America’s 45th president.
While most of her shows provide a platform for her liberal political opinions, and certainly her Hollywood guests are Clinton supporters, this episode provided an added obnoxious twist – Univision news anchor Jorge Ramos was on to promote a documentary he made titled Hate Rising which is conveniently set to air on Univision and Fusion on October 23. You may remember when Ramos was escorted out of a Trump press conference during his primary race. Ramos aggressively yelled his question to Trump, without waiting to be called on by Trump.
Handler played that video clip and the audience booed. Though Trump wasn’t mentioned as a subject in this documentary, it was clear that Ramos blames Trump for the rise in hate groups like the KKK. “Donald Trump has given them (his supporters) permission to be politically incorrect all the time.” Chelsea encouraged this talk – it’s her opinion, too – and said Trump’s Make America Great Again slogan was a desire to go back to 1965 – “He wants a white America.” Ramos traveled to Texas to interview the Imperial Wizard of the KKK.
When Chelsea said if Trump wins the election she seriously thinks she’ll move to Canada, Ramos said, “Let’s go.” Let’s make that happen, America.
