Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo Defend Christian Chris Pratt From Far Left Media Mob

Of all the people who’d be coming to the defense of apolitical Christian Hollywood star Chris Pratt for refusing to star in a Joe Biden fundraiser, you wouldn’t think it would be other Hollywood stars -- some of them rabid lefties.

However in a move of solidarity and political civility, actors Robert Downey Jr. and far left, Trump-hating Bernie Bro Mark Ruffalo didn’t pile on with the media and Twitter mob smearing Pratt for possibly being a *GASP* conservative, they got out and defended him as a stand up guy against the self-proclaimed “sinless” media mob.

It all started after reports that Pratt would not be joining fellow Marvel co-stars for an Avengers-themed Biden/Harris campaign fundraiser that was announced on October 18. The cheesy tagline for that event, which was called “Avengers Assemble!”, stated, “With the fate of our democracy at stake, Kamala Harris has called on America's favorite superheroes to host what could be the most ambitious crossover event in grassroots fundraiser history”

Guests included cast members of Avengers: Endgame like Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, and Zoe Saldana. Internet sleuths however pointed that Pratt, the Guardians of the Galaxy star, was not included in the guest list and accusations started to fly around that not only was he not a Biden supporter but a “MAGA dummy” and even a “white supremacist.”

Of course as MRC Culture’s Lindsay Kornick noted, Pratt has never once endorsed any of the current presidential candidates. He had donated money to the Barack Obama re-election campaign in 2012 and more recently, gave money to Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s (D-HI) presidential campaign. But of course, this is Hollywood, where not going out of your way to celebrate Biden as the greatest candidate in history amounts to active resistance to his campaign.

Pratt is a proud Hollywood Christian who caught heat for wearing a Gadsden flag T-shirt once. For many trigger-happy Tweeters, he fits the profile of “deplorable” well enough.

Either way, a couple of Pratt’s famous coworkers came to his aid amidst the accusation, with the most high-profile rescue being from Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. In an Instagram post, the action star wrote, “What a world... The ‘sinless’ are casting stones at my #brother, Chris Pratt... A real #Christian who lives by #principle, has never demonstrated anything but #positivity and #gratitude…”

Of course Downey Jr. prefers to keep his own politics under wraps, but he did joke in 2008 that his previous stint in prison gave him a more conservative perspective.

He continued to lacerate Pratt’s critics, adding, "If you take issue with Chris,,, I’ve got a novel idea. Delete your social media accounts, sit with your OWN defects of #character, work on THEM, then celebrate your humanness…” Brutal.

More surprising, however, was far lefty Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo’s defense of Pratt. In a tweet, he stated, “You all, @prattprattpratt is as solid a man there is. I know him personally, and instead of casting aspersions, look at how he lives his life. He is just not overtly political as a rule.” Wow, has hell frozen over? Ruffalo is about as far left as they come, publicly saying things like media companies should stop “hiring” “white conservatives” and calling Trump “public enemy number one.” Of course, what does that mean about Trump supporters?

Well at least it’s clear that when Ruffalo gets to know someone who’s a little less left-leaning, he’s open to considering him a friend. He also seems to understand the danger of a bloodthirsty far-left media mob. Hey Ruffalo, could we have more civility from you regularly, please? It’s nice!
