Former stripper-turned-rap artist Cardi B has been talking about leaving the country in the wake of America’s current standoff with Iran.
Calling President Trump’s bombing of Iranian Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani his “dumbest” action yet, Ms. B took to Twitter to announce that she’s thinking about traveling to Nigeria.
Good for her. Does anyone want to tell her that Nigeria isn’t necessarily a safer place to live, either? No? Oh, well.
Cardi, the 27-year-old rap star from the Bronx, has no qualms about sharing her politics and absolute hatred of Donald Trump with the world. In an industry that revolves around inspirational Trump takedowns at award shows and on social media, Cardi is a natural, even though her illiteracy signals that she has no idea what she’s talking about.
Last week, the “Money” rapper responded to the news of the death of Iranian terrorist Qasem Soleimani like the rest of Hollywood, claiming that it was a terrible idea that Trump would order the airstrike on one of our bloodthirsty enemies.
She tweeted, “[S]hit ain’t no joke! Specially being from New York. Its sad this man is putting Americans live in danger.” Yep, and millions of her fans presumably accept the idea that the current president is more of a terrorist than Soleimani, a man who has taken hundreds of American lives over the years.
Cardi added an even dumber thought to her tweet, saying, “Dumbest move Trump did till date ...I’m filing for my Nigerian citizenship.”
Now, it’s unclear whether Cardi is leaving out of fear for her own life, or just leaving because Trump is so “dumb,” but it is worth noting that Nigeria has a global reputation for being a dangerous country.
According to World Population Review, Nigeria has the 16th lowest peace index in the entire world which puts the country only just above North Korea in terms of safe places to live. Cardi better be wearing Kevlar at all times once she gets over there.
It’s all very stupid, even if it’s just a bit of social media hyperbole. But Cardi’s fans must eat it up. After all, Bernie Sanders, a current 2020 presidential campaign frontrunner sees her political appeal amongst young people; there’s enough there that he partnered with her for campaign PR in April of last year.
Ms. B, really, you can’t leave fast enough!
