The ABC, CBS and NBC evening news shows are doing everything they can to cover for President Joe Biden. They buried a major poll showing former President Donald Trump completely decimating Biden on the economy amongst voters.
A Marquette Law School survey of 868 registered voters released Oct. 5 asked who they believed would handle a litany of issues better between Trump and Biden. When it came to economic issues, Trump beat Biden by double-digits across a number of areas. But of course, this significant election development wasn’t newsworthy at all for ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News, who appeared content treating the poll like it didn’t exist during their Oct. 5 broadcasts. Instead of covering the survey, NBC in particular chose to cover a “bedbug infestation” in Paris ahead of the Summer 2024 Olympics. Such hard-hitting journalism!
On the overall “economy,” voters overwhelmingly picked Trump over Biden by a 52 percent to 28 percent margin. Biden suffered major blows in other areas concerning the economy too. On “Inflation,” 50 percent of registered voters picked Trump, while just 27 percent picked Biden. But that’s not all. When it came to the issue of who would be better at creating jobs, Trump cleaned Biden’s clock amongst registered voters. Forty-nine percent of respondents picked Trump over Biden, who got just 30 percent.
The networks continue to prove why they’re nothing but propagandists doing everything they can to prop up Biden and company’s economic image ahead of the 2024 election. But it’s clear voters are seeing right through the media ploy. A Gallup survey of 1,016 adults released Oct. 3, which the evening networks also conveniently ignored across three days of coverage, found that a majority 53 percent of Americans preferred the Republican Party on economic issues over the Democratic Party, which got just 39 percent of support.
Apparently, the Big Three are willing to bury any significant economic news if it proves detrimental to the Biden agenda. All three networks ignored the national debt topping a frightening $33 trillion across two days of coverage. All three networks also chose to bury the U.S. Census Bureau’s recent report showing that the U.S. poverty rate spiked 4.6 percentage points in 2022 to 12.4 percent for the first time since 2010.
The Heritage Foundation economist EJ Antoni told MRC Business that the inflation crisis spurred on by Biden’s outrageous policies served as the culprit behind the increasein the poverty rate. “Because inflation was so high last year, it moved the poverty threshold up at the fastest rate in decades,” Antoni said. “[B]ecause wages have lagged so far behind inflation during the Biden economy, people’s wages did not increase fast enough to keep many Americans from falling into poverty.”
