MEDIA FAIL: Majority of Voters ‘Less Likely’ to Support Candidates that Back Biden’s Student Debt Scam

Americans are telling the liberal media hacks trying to drive excitement over President Joe Biden’s student debt forgiveness scam to take a hike, according to a new poll.

The Trafalgar Group, in conjunction with Convention of States Action, released a survey Sept. 12 of 1,084 likely 2022 election voters spelling possible doom for leftist candidates who support Biden’s legally dubious plan to cancel $10,000 in student loan debt for anyone making less than $125,000 (or $250,000 for couples filing jointly).

Specifically, 55.6 percent of voters said they are “less likely” to vote for candidates that back Biden’s plan. Even worse, this figure included a whopping 64.6 percent of independent voters who said they were less likely to support candidates who champion the student debt scam. A sizable plurality (49 percent) of all voters surveyed stated they were “much less likely” to vote for candidates who backed Biden on the student debt issue.

These results fly in the face of an ongoing liberal media campaign from the likes of ABC, CBS, MSNBC and the phony fact-checkers to drum up support for Biden’s plan and shield it from any criticism that exposes it for the farce it truly is. CATO Center for Educational Freedom Director Neal McCluskey during an MRC business interview stated that the individual costs could theoretically break down to almost $3,200 per taxpayer if one were to use Penn Wharton’s $500 billion-plus estimate for the overall cost of student loan debt cancellation alone.

Convention of States Action President Mark Meckler argued that Biden’s student debt forgiveness misstep is angering voters, despite media spin:

We’re seeing this reflected not just in the polling but on the ground as well with grassroots activists we talk to in every state. Voters—particularly those must-win Independents—are appalled by Biden’s plan and will respond at the ballot box. This is looking like the sleeper issue that may have more impact in November than people suspect.

Of course, the ABC, CBS and NBC evening shows didn’t bother to cover the Trafalgar poll during their Sept. 12 broadcasts last night, perhaps because it proves their pro-Biden spin isn’t working.

When Biden made his student debt forgiveness announcement Aug. 24, the ABC and CBS evening news shows pushed their propaganda into hyperdrive. On ABC’s World News Tonight, anchor David Muir gushed how Biden kept his “campaign promise” to “cancel thousands in federal student loan debt for some 43 million Americans.” Over at CBS Evening News, anchor Norah O’Donnell slobbered how Biden was “following through on a campaign promise he made in 2020.” She continued: “President Biden offers relief for millions of Americans burdened with federal student loans.”

MSNBC’s “Barbie DreamHouse” enthusiast anchor Stephanie Ruhle cheered during the Aug. 29 edition of 11th Hour how Democrats were “fighting like Republicans” to defend Biden’s student debt plan. “Well now, for fact’s sake loan forgiveness is not nearly as uncommon as they would have you think. The government does it all the time. It is called a tax break,” Ruhle gaslighted. “We see it with corporations.”

CNBC took the propaganda a step further by exploiting “black borrowers” to harrumph how Biden’s plan doesn’t go far enough and whined that he should offer more debt forgiveness.

One thing is clear: The American people aren’t buying the media spin.

Conservatives are under attack. Contact ABC News at 818-460-7477, CBS News at 212-975-3247 and NBC News at 212-664-6192 and hold them to account for ignoring the Trafalgar poll.
